Liked: It's in a good location

Disliked: The AC is pumped into your room, and you have no control over it. We were given tiny 'blankets' as thin as a sarong and that didn't even cover your body. Thus we ended up freezing cold all night and unable to do anything about it. Also, the bed was very itchy. We arrived late and tried to take a shower after midnight. Not 100% sure why, but every shower was in use, and i think i could hear couples voices whilst waiting... Eventually one shower opened up after a long wait and it was only cold water. We stayed in D'Garden Hotel for almost the same money and had en-suite hot water, real A/C and free breakfast. I know which we will choose in future!

Liked: The location is great. Near the MRT where you could use to go around the city. No hassle as the MRT/LRT connects to most of the tourist sites.

Liked: Good location in Chinatown, cheap price.

Disliked: WiFi not working, staff not very friendly/helpful. Had to ask for a map, and was given one in Chinese with no info about where might be good to go, etc. Really had to push staff to help with anything. No obvious tour/travel info either. Not much character and quite dirty. 11 MYR is a good price for a dorm but everything is extra: breakfast, internet, toilet paper, towels, etc.

Liked: Staff were very helpful. Good location. Good, cheap breakfast at rooftop cafe. CHEAP.

Disliked: This isn't the cleanest or newest hostel in the world. Don't come here expecting it to be a nice hotel. For the price, in the middle of a big, expensive city, it's a pretty decent place to stay. Online directions from Pasar Seni station could be a little clearer.

Liked: It's quite cheap and has a good location. WiFi is decent (around 3mbps), but unreliable. The breakfast on the rooftop is decent and fairly priced.

Disliked: Bed was not very comfortable. A/C only on at night. The dorm rooms are all attached, so it just feels like one big dorm room. Overall, it's a good place if you're on a tight budget, but you can stay some place quite a bit more comfortable for just a little bit more.

Liked: Cheap and functional. Great location. Free wi fi. We only stayed a night so we didn't have time to soak up the atmosphere.... Seemed like plenty of other people were having a good time though.

Disliked: It's a bit noisey staying in the rooms near reception.

Liked: The location was okay in China town but is a fair walk to KLCC i.e the petronas towers and shopping malls. We emailed to advise we would be arriving a day early and were accommodated so cannot complain there.

Disliked: You were given your own sheets on arrival to make your own bed but I suppose you get what you pay for. The bathrooms were okay but I cannot be certain how often they were cleaned as you could not see the drain for the mass of hair trapped. There was an administration error on part of the staff as they did not charge us for our final night of the stay which then led to the staff insiting we owed a full nights pay even though we had already paid the deposit which isnt nice being called a liar when the mistake was on the part of the staff.. Make sure you keep your receipt of payment though or they will try to make you pay again even though they clearly keep note of what has been paid.

Liked: The little you pay is only for the location because the hostel is awful.

Disliked: The rooms are tiny and very noisy. Everything is dirty. The shower is exactly on top of the toilet. There is virtually no common room. The staff smoke at night and as the rooms have inside windows, you get all the smoke.

Liked: The location and the price. Roof top bar is really nice and the drinks are cheap (and strong - double vodka and mixer in a little glass).

Disliked: I felt like a caged hen in the fan room as its a box in a row of other boxes along the corridor. I returned back to KL and booked here again - as I said the location and price are good, but booked a balcony room. Having a window and room to move around for an extra 45p is worth it! The hostel is not pretty and the cleanliness is questionable but this can be tolerated. Also not much atmosphere even in the roof top bar but this is dependant on fellow travellers.

Liked: The hostel was close to a selection of shops and the local tubes and railway lines.

Disliked: The room had two large patches of running damp on the ceiling, complete with a black mould. Myself and my partner now both have chesty coughs. Could be coincidence. The room was opposite the main road, and, aside from the constant noise from traffic, with curtains about as thick as damp toilet paper, was just as light whether it was day or night.. One of the neon lights opposite was a flashing arrow, which gave the room a lovely strobing effect~rather annoying at 4 o'clock in the morning when you have been trying to to seep for 6 hours. To be fair, even with a perfectly darkened room, I'm not sure i could have slept anyway. To so you know, two thin and saggy matresses do not a wonderful bedtime experience make, and do not cancel out the poor quality of each other. On the plus side, there is a convenience store just along the road that is open 24 hours, should you also need headache tablets, painkillers or a large quantity of beer to get you through the night.
