Liked: Wood panelled rooms, views from the upper floors, comfy shared places to sit, a real effort has been made to make things pleasant. Everything is clean and bed linen is to good hotel standards. Overall a superior guest house/hostel, worth the premium price.

Disliked: Low ceilings mean the common areas get hot (they are fans, though).

Liked: Location was perfect, staff were v friendly.

Disliked: Being really picky here as the hotel was good but the bathroom in the twin doesn't match the decor of the hotel. Not that it really matters. The breakfast was very basic and the internet was a bit hit and miss at times

Liked: Fantastic place . Beautifully furnished in the communal areas . Enjoyed my stay here. Room clean and comfortable

Disliked: The stairs there are 4 floors and no lift. If you have a problem with steps 50 to the 3rd floor, ask for a room lower down when you book

Liked: Had a very comfortable stay here. Room was clean and cool, and the staff were very helpful. Felt more like a boutique hotel than a guesthouse/b&b.

Liked: It's a walk distance from the Raja Chulan Monorail Station and Bukit Bintang Area. Easy to reach the heart of the city. Helpful staffs and nice nuance within the property.

Disliked: Nothing in particular, but I do recommend the manager to label the bed and the designated drawer for dorm type bed to reduce the awkwardness among the customers. The other thing might be to improve the quality of the wifi connection inside the room since I could not connect properly even though the system said that it's connecting already

Liked: It was in a great location, walking distance to most major tourist attractions. Our room was also very clean, although small side. The outside was so beautiful and lush, our taxi driver had difficulty finding it! The local eateries on the side of the street were delicious, friendly and great value. It's also very close to the street full of food/seafood stalls that come alive at night. Breakfast was simple (white toast bread, jam, cereal etc.) and came with great fresh fruit, but it's what you'd expect somewhere like this. If you're happy to eat breakfast with the locals, you can go to the numerous food stalls/restaurants nearby and have a delicious local breakfast & coffee for a few ringgit. The staff were helpful when asking for directions and places to go, and provided maps and instructions for transportation. Turns out the staff are more up to date than the Tourist information office! We were going to Melaka the next day, and given the wrong information by the tourist office, but luckily asked the staff for directions and they told us the correct bus terminal to go to.

Disliked: The walls were very thin, it wasn't a problem the first night, but we had some noisy neighbors the second night. They weren't loud for very long, and all in all the place was really quiet. Our room (double) didn't have a window in the room (they did have one in the bathroom) but we knew about it already.

Liked: A great location, within easy walking distance to the Patronas Towers (KLCC) or Chinatown in the other direction. Next door are some charming restaurants (Delucca), jazz bar (No Black Tie) and the usual street food stalls. The Monorail just along the road makes the rest of KL easily accessible including Batu Caves. Information from reception was free flowing with maps of KL and public transport system offered immediately. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. I stayed in the 3-bed dorm. Room was very small but amazing comfortable bed, high quality bedding, combination safe-box and AC. This is one of the best places I've stayed for a long time, great value! I’ve already booked my return visit in February! Only one slight issue - thin walls. I could hear the people next door clearly as if in my room. But the clients of the place seemed to also know this and so a mutual respect for quiet seemed to be observed most of the time. Good breakfast each morning – thanks guys :)

Disliked: Sound proofing not great due to the wooden interior

Liked: I've been backpacking for over two years and this is by far one of the best hostels in Asia - I think you get boutique hotel accomodation at hostel prices in a location that beats the pricier hotels. The staff are fantastic, the chillout areas are very clean and comfortable and it never feels too busy. It's a short walk to the monorail, Petronas Towers, Pavillion Mall and KLTV tower, and a much shorter walk to the busy bar street and famous sea-food street. While some of the rooms are on the small-ish side it doesn't really matter as they are extremely comfortable (soft beds and pillows) with excellent tiled bathrooms. There's a taxi rank just across the street too and some very popular budget restaurants nearby.

Liked: I love the Rainforest B&B ... it is easily the best hostel i have ever stayed in in South East Asia. The bed is comfy, the linen is clean and the place is not only spotless and comfortable but it also comes with so many great extras...kitchen, lounges, snacks, giant tvs...its a great place to spend a few days and an oasis in the centre of KL

Disliked: Nothing i thought the property was great

Liked: The place is nicely decorated, with plenty of wood and a dark ambience.

Disliked: However, I could not recommend this place. Staff at reception were less than welcoming, perfunctory and reluctant to offer information when asked. Overall, the staff were seemingly forever chatting with each other or watching the television in the lounge room rather than actually proactively assisting guests - the laziest staff i have encountered in many hostels/hotels in Malaysia. The double rooms are windowless and our airconditioner was filled with mould, not healthy. It also constantly dripped water onto the bed. The floors are all tiled, it is very noisy and difficult to sleep. Even during the day, chairs were constantly scraped across the floors. There are two building projects on either side of the hotel, and make noise even to late at night! If you like hammering noises, this will suit you. We booked three months prior, and yet they did not send even one email to notify that building work would be ongoing. By the time you arrive and discover this, it is too late to change to another hotel. Very poor customer service. Lastly, there are no fire safety precautions. No fire extinguishers or hoses that could be seen or smoke alarms. As the rooms are made of wood, this hotel is a fire death trap and would not meet fire safety regulations.

Liked: The hostel is very pretty. The room was super comfortable and clean. Breakfast was basic but good. Very centrally located. I would definately recommend this place!

Disliked: There is a club next to the hostel, with very loud music on the weekends. I personally didn't mind because I wanted to go clubbing myself but if you're looking for a quiet night this might not be the best spot.

Liked: The building is stunning, on the outside and inside, the decor is very unusual and makes you feel like you are at home. I stayed in a 3 bed 'dorm' which is the budget option, and although it was very cramped, the room was spotless, the beds comfy, with air conditioning and safes and there was a massive bathroom with excellent shower close by, therefore it was excellent value for money. The location was very convenient, near the metro and very near shopping and eating in one of the most popular areas of the city.

Disliked: THe only down side is due to its fabulous location near restaurants and bars, it was a little noisy at night, i did need my earplugs.
