Liked: This is a very good hostel with all the facilities you would expect and a very nice common area (kitchen/balcony). The location is very good and easy to find from Pasar Seni station and Chinatown. The best thing is the staff who are the most friendly and helpful I have ever met! The only slight criticisms I have are that the bathroom was a bit dirty and the air-con didn't really work.

Liked: Lee, Mann, Jacky and Norhisham are very friendly, helpful and make us feel at home. The location is excellent with the LRT in front and Chinatown at the back for cheap eats and drinks. The aircond is unique in that it's cooler in the corridors than in the rooms. The friendliness and location are the main attractions for us but with improved aircond will be that perfect home away from home..

Liked: It was a nice place ruined by the revolting bathrooms. I had a very nice impression of the place until I saw the showers, then I wanted to leave immediately. I wouldn't stay there again simply because of this.

Liked: I was VERY annoyed when trying to find this place. It can be very difficult to locate, and a bit stressful when you're logging a heavey backpack in the hot heat. And the fact that the hostel hung up on the taxi driver twice when we called to ask for directions, and wouldn't come to pick me up when i was lost and witin 3mins away from the place,.... that's the only bad experience i had with Matahari Lodge,.:(. Other than that, the place is decent.

Liked: The staff were excellent. Really friendly. The outside looks a bit shabby but the inside is modern and clean and a relaxed place to spend time. Rooms are basic b ut again clean. Very good for local amenities. I would strongly recomend this hostel to other backpackers. Excellent value for money

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful, but lack of air conditioning in the rooms meant it could be difficult to sleep at night. Bathrooms could have been cleaned more regularly.

Liked: I chose tjis ghesthouse after reading comments at HostelBookers. This guest house for sure deserve the opinion it has. The staff is very helpfull, you can count for free city maps, for tips how to visit Petronas Towers when you arrive in the afternoon, how to visit Malacca in one day etc...If I am in KL next time, I will choose Matahari Lodge again!

Liked: The staffes were really nice and it is a good place to meet new people,but I couldn't use hot water in the morning and one time the water was dirty, although it became clean after I kept running water.
