Jessica BergmanSHADY!!! I was actually bribed by one of the staff members in exchange for a perfect review!!!! I stayed at this hostel and left my bags while I went to the Perhentian islands for a few days. First, the guy told me I could leave my bags if I was planning on coming back and staying at the hostel, which I was, but didn't mention I had to pay for this service until I got back and was charged $10! Fine, but then I asked if I could pay for a half day since I only needed a room from 1pm to 7pm to shower and nap before my flight, as I hadn't slept the night before. He told me this wasn't possible but that I could use the shower and internet if I paid for half a day, but that I couldn't access the dorm because he didn't know what to write on my recipt. I tried to reason with him but finally just agreed to this and paid for a half day to basically shower and check email....BUT a couple of hours later he says, "You booked through hostelbookers when you stayed on the ___, right? And you haven't rated it yet." as he's looking on the computer. So he says he'll let me sleep in the dorm if I give all 5's on the review!!!!! He explains that his boss gives him bonuses for perfect reviews!!!! I say it sounds like bribery and he stumbles for a minute but I'm exhausted so say, "Sure, I'll give you 5's. I just want a bed" with no intention of doing so. He gives me a bed and the dorm is completely empty except for one other girl and keeps poking his head into the room to remind me to rate my stay!!!!! Then as I leave he tells me not to tell anybody about it!!!!! First of all, why not just let me take a nap in an empty dorm if I'm already paying for half of a day, esp since I told him I had my own linens and wouldn't do anything other than sleep. Second, to actually bribe somebody for a good review????!!!!! What happened to customer service for the sake of the customer and good business practice, not for reviews and bonuses. I recommend staying somewhere else solely on principal. I wouldn't support a place like this in the future and hope this guy gets fired soon. |

Danielle PlowmanThis was the first hostel I stayed at on my travels and was delighted by it. I wish i could have stayed longer. The hostel was very clean and friendly with great facilities including free breakfast and internet. The staff were also very accomadating, due to our flight being delayed they opened up at 3 am for us! def recommend! |

Carolina Gonzalez-UrenaThis hostel is welcoming, clean and very well organised. It has been furnished to make you feel al home, with big sofas, a big telly, DVD's, PC's plenty of books and informative guides and a well equipped kitchen (although it lacks a fridge). The guy at reception was very helpful giving us a local map with the recommended tourist spots. The location is great, very close to the monorail station and several bus stops. All in all, a good place to stay. |
