Liked: Really friendly staff, always smiling and helping you out... Really liked the vibe of the new guy "Muki", so friendly and caring.

Disliked: A fridge for the guests would be great. Didn't like that you have to take your shoes off and walk barefoot, the bathroom floor was most of the time wet and not so nice to stand there barefoot.

Liked: Close to the monorail system. Lots of information on the city of KL on the walls and what nots.

Disliked: We paid about the same for a private hostel room as we did for a nice hotel in bukit bintang. Instead we paid 70 myr for a pretty bad situation-bugs everywhere, stained sheets, only one towel, unclean restroom, paper thin walls, etc. The "free" internet was crazy. 5 computers-2 broken. The other 3 were constantly used and there's no time limit and even if u ask another traveler for 5 minutes of their time off of FB they refuse because they also had to wait an hour plus. The receptionist was the most uncompassionate woman we met on our whole journey. We booked online, had our reservation docs, and had a appropriation cards. However, our cards are Chinese and weren't working and so we asked to have my mother or my husband's mother pay for the cost online-she refused. We called my boss and emailed a chinese friend to forward her credit card information, copy of her passport, and signature for approval... they refused. My husband had to search over 10 ATMS in the area until one finally accepted our bank of china cards. And until he returned i had to wait in the lobby and in order to stay there i had a kind British man pay for our one night temporarily until my husband returned. What kindness Hostel Cosmopolitan bestowed upon us! ;) We will not recommend this place and never stay again. I have traveled all over SE asia, the americas, and europe and have had a good share of horror stories and interesting hostels, but never have i been treated as such. :(

Liked: Very little - close to Monorail.

Disliked: Lady behind desk is downright rude. The building from outside looks like something from a ghetto. The room had no window and felt like a prison cell. Our sink was blocked and even though they tried to fix it and couldn't was full of smelly backed up water all night. There are signs all over the hostel with rules and prices for all the services they offer but yet they can't stretch to providing info on trains/buses. Hostel rules without the benefits.

Liked: Theres an elevator to the hostel, the womans a bit grumpy but has good English and the staff are really helpful, had DVDs for rent, free internet (but the locals/long term stayers (as they get a discount so there did seem to be a fair few locals) seemed to hog the internet.) Room was nice and clean, breakfast was nice (and had a kitchen so was a nice way to meet others that were in the hostel), was just around th corner from a subway station and right outside from a market for cheap food. Would fully recommend staying here!

Disliked: I seen a rat when leaving just outside the doorway which was quite a shock

Liked: Well...to start off. I was greeted by Sitti, the front desk staff, with a garbled charming calling out of my name as I entered the hotel. She had remembered me fro my first visit two years ago; so add "great staff" to the list. Other than that, I always meet interesting people to hang out with there, the rooms are clean and cheap, lots of small things like free toilet paper and water go a long way as well as maps and suggestions of places to go, the market around the hotel, the nearby train and bus stops, free internet and wifi was also a plus. Prices for the value do not get any better anywhere I have stayed. I payed about $6 a night for all of the above....even if I was in a shared room with fan with 2-3 others, it suited me just fine.

Disliked: They just added some new rooms but it still can get a little crowded in there. The main "living room area" where everyone can gather and get online is pretty small. I also had some problems getting online in my room. (But was able to in the kitchen and in the living room.) I would say it was suited to me as a solo traveler but I am not sure how couples or larger groups would fare there.

Liked: Nice backpackers hostel, good atmosphere.

Disliked: Only disadvantage was the staff and the hygiene part. Some of the staff looked really boring and didn't seem to care. On the hygiene part: they have at least one cat, no problem about that. Only that the cat has fleas and the staff say it is really difficult to get rid of them... Also other creatures walk at your bed, like the bed bug and other blood sucking small things. The staff didn't react properly when asked about the bed bugs 'Oh, are there bed bugs?', that was it... Comment to the staff/owner: please get rid of the bed bugs, fleas and other creatures at your hostel!

Liked: I was in a six bed dorm which was clean and a decent size, bed was comfortable, and each bed had its own reading light and power point, plus big size lockers. Free wifi throughout the hostel which was reasonably fast and worked reliably the whole time I was there, plus cable TV with sports channels Free toast and bananas for breakfast. Staff were friendly. Let me hang out in the hostel and watch TV and use the internet after I checked out and they didn't charge me a late check-out fee which was nice. If you're on the third floor then there's also a big room with fans which you can use to dry your clothes.

Disliked: The actual location of the hostel isn't perfect, but it's right next to Chow Kit monorail so it's easy to get to wherever you want to in KL. And there's a few market stalls on the streets near the hostel, so although it's not in the area where I would usually stay, it was still interesting to see a different part of KL for a change.

Liked: One stop away from Titiwangsa monorail station (where u can catch the bus to Genting (you must do SkyVenture!) or Jerantut to go to Taman Negara, another must do! ), real close to Chow Kit station, character on the street, Floor 3 - all renovated with new beds etc. Good place to meet people. Had a separate showers and toilet area. 6 bed dorm rooms on floor 3 had lockers inside the room. Free breakfast + coffee/tea/milo. Credit has to be given to those filo/indo ladies for keeping the place nice and clean. Had toilet paper (yes, that's a luxury item in Malaysia). They upgraded me to the 6bed dorm room free of charge when I alerted them to bedbugs.

Disliked: In a dodgy, smelly (open gutters) part of town, Room 404 bed 4B had bedbugs so stay away from this 10bed dorm room on floor 4!, toilet floor seemed to be always wet (most likely from some people not familiar with toilet paper). No locks on dorm room doors. No fridge. Emergency exits seemed to be blocked or locked and it felt like a death trap. Do not eat at the indian next door, I had food poisoning and was on the toilet for 2 or 3 days!

Liked: 24 hour wifi and free breakfast.

Disliked: There is a Malaysian long term guest that walks around behaving like he owns the joint. He is always in the couch/tv area annoying fellow guests. The street that the hostel is in is disgustingly dirty and has smelly markets infront of the building. The hostel is hard to find. The hostel is NOT within walking distance of the city's tourist attractions.
