Liked: nothing.

Disliked: It is terrible value for money. there are so many cheaper hostel than this hostel in ohrid. In addtion, host and hostess are not helpful. they didn't give any information about their hostel. we had to find bathroom, kitchen, and so on. usually there are kids in the hostel. And we arrived at booking day, but he block the money(first night charge) from my credit card. I could'nt understand. And his caculation about exchang rate is not honesty. When he went the beach with his kids, we ask him how can I get to the beach. but he just answer to me, "It is close from here" we had to look for the beach for ourselves. So we moved to another hostel, It was cheaper than this(7euro per person, private twin room) and we got so much help from host of hostel. anyway, this hostel is worst value for money in ohrid.

Liked: We liked the location - close to town center.

Disliked: The bathroom wasn't clean (long black hair on the floor), there were no towels, bed linen was deficient. There we're ceramic tiles missing in the bathroom and the ceiling looked as if it could fall down in any moment. The bathtub was so small and with no curtain, so the water sprinkled all around the bathroom when taking a shower. The "kitchen" was equipped with microwave oven, but no ordinary stove to prepare yourself normal meal with. There is a working fridge, though. TV-satellite set only had TV programs with national music on.... which is really frustrating when there are showers outside and you have nothing else to do... The boss was complaining about the fact that the price was 10€ per person per day when we booked, but in the meantime the price changed, so it should be more expensive. We payed the price that was advertised, the price does not include tourist tax. We didn't get any kind of paper that showed that we payed or even that we stayed there - that could be a problem if you are asked to show some paper on the national border and you don't have any.

Liked: the discription of the internet actually gives a better impression than it is in reality

Disliked: not fully cleaned old furniture bathing room, - very small and it is not possible to have a shower without flooding the whole floor

Liked: The hosts were really friendly and helpful, ready to provide all kind of information about Ohrid, transportation and surroundings. They even gave me a CD with a presentation about Ohrid as a present. My room was clean and cosy, with a spacious balcony having a nice view. However, as I found out upon arrival, the average price for a room in a family house in Ohrid (for one person) is 5-7 euros, not 20 euros. Also, all the nice firniture in my room turned out to be occupied by the hosts' property and I only had a small cabinet to put my things into. Breakfast for 2 euros (120 denars) was just a joke: a few pieces of bread, a little bit of honey, a little bit of butter and a glass of milk! (To compare: in town, a nice panckake with honey/jam costs 50 denars).Location is Ok - next to the central square (the one with the big tree), the sights and the quay are within a short walk ; however, if you prefer swimming, I would choose something closer to Kaneo beach.

Liked: the owners are lovely and gave us a free upgrade from a twin to an apartment as they weren't too busy at the time. I was very close to the town and the owners offered halp/advice on everything.

Liked: Great family living there, great view from terrace and very helpful. Cheap and worth it! Also a really neat house.

Liked: Every so often when travelling you come across a jewel. For me it was the combination of the town itself and being able to stay so conveniently close to the centre in such a friendly well-run place. The family that keep it were always available to help but were never intrusive. They're expanding the accommodation - I wish them every success.
