Liked: Perfect location almost in the centre of the old town, short walking distances to various attractions. Good public transportation connections near. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Clean towels and linen. Room for three was spacious and nice view from the window to the opera house. Window could be opened to get some fresh air. Own bathroom and toilet – in spite of all.

Disliked: Room was untidy, there was dust under beds and on the wardrobe shelves, the floor needed to be washed and toilet and bathtub were dirty. In the room no glasses or mugs for brushing your teeth / drinking. No bin in the room although in the bathroom there was one. In the kitchen there were no cutlery, glasses or plates although there were fridges and cooking ware. The first night it was very noisy - loud music from the next room at night from 2 to 4 a.m. After complaining about it to the reception the other nights were silent.

Liked: Very good location: just next to the famous and high-class Latvian National Opera, which I strongy recommend to visit :). Breakfast was diverse and tasty.

Disliked: We were not offered the rooms I had booked. Instead of 2 Separate Twin Rooms we were offered 2 Shared Rooms in an Apartment, and I even did not hear an apology. Instead, with confidence I was assured this was exactly what I had to expect. And it was extremely noisy at night in this summer weekend, a bar with rock music just beneath the windows. Otherwise, everything was OK.

Liked: Rather shabby location on 3rd floor of former grand Hotel Riga. Room at end of corridor with lots of ongoing building/electrical work. Room very basic with musty smell and bad plumbing. Only good things were the price,location and breakfast.
