Liked: It's really only 10 minutes walk to the Old Town or center of Riga. Really cheap price.

Disliked: Mens shower is suitable for horse paddocks. Microwave oven looks and smells like a bin. Do not accept credit cards, only cash.

Liked: very close to the bus station

Disliked: Kitchen is just for the name sake. The microwave is taking ages to warm food stuffs. No sink in the kitchen. Rooms were also smelling.

Liked: Very cheap for the location just 300 meters from old Riga center. Good matresses, pretty quite, behind the city market but very safe as it is in front of police station (generally Riga is very safe). The con point: the only 2 toillets open directly to the common room which is kind of awkward and uneasy. Generally their installations are kind of primitive. There are only 2 showers so if they are busy you may have to wait in line. But very kind english speaking staff. But if you are in a tight budget it is a good choice specially as you can buy all sorts of fun food in the market.

Liked: I liked the helpfulness of the reception staff, I liked the hostel hairdressing services which was a bargain, the room was clean and somewhat comfortable, nice big sized rooms. The price was cheap, and I also liked the location of the Hostel right in the centre of the market. On the whole this was a good stay at this Hostel in Riga. Would return to this Hostel. But Posh in decor it is not

Liked: Great location right next to the Russian market, within a couple of hundred metres from the bus station and not much further to the Old Town. Staff friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic, clean and very cheap. Free internet, use of the fridge and microwave. Exactly what you want from a budget, no frills hostel.
