Liked: The dorm rooms are quite good value for money. Furthermore the staff is very helpfull and there is free breakfast and internet included. The private rooms however are not recommended. They are very empty and then you also hear every word that is spoken in the reception area that is 5 meters away. Very noisy indeed. Matrass was pretty worn out.

Liked: The hostel is located in an interesting part of the city, very near to the sightseeing places, bus and train stations, but at the same time outside the "Old Town: theme park for tourists". It allows you to experience some more of REAL city life in Latvia. The hostel building is in perfect conditions (old but redeveloped) and the common room on the ground floor is just great: ample, with two sofas, a big table, a chimney, even a sauna! The only negative factor was that electricity was not working, so nobody can enjoy the best thing that this hostel has to offer as an extra-facility. There is also a small common room in the 1st floor with a tv that is running day and night and a computer with access to internet. The members of the staff were kind and answered all the questions we had about Riga and the hostel.

Liked: The hostel is located approx. 15 minutes walk from the old town, close to the railway station but one could consider the area quite dangerous. Although the hostel and the room itself were very cozy and nicely decorated it was noisy and stuffy- it was too hot in the room because the heater was all the time on (we couldn't turn it off). Breakfast was very modest and there was no place to sit down and eat (only 6 stools available). It is forbidden to smoke in the entire building. There is a free parking space in the backyard of the hostel and free internet access in the common room as well as wifi.

Liked: very friendly, nice rooms (colourful arragement, you feel like home), very cheap (9 lats per person for a two bed room incl. towel, bedlinen, breakfast) the breakfast could be better

Liked: Very helpful staff with the bonus of a breakfast.The only problem we found was that we got to the right building but there was only a A4 sign in the door for the hostel that you had to look hard for. Other than that it was a great rest point and good cloths cleaning facilities.
