Phetdavanh family Guesthouse and bungalows in the middle of Muang Ngoi Neua; scenic river town in north Lao surrounded by mountains, caves and waterfalls.

Welcome to Phetdavanh Family Guesthouse & Bungalows!

The guesthouse is a 2 story building on the main street of the village. We have a clean bathroom with shower and western style toilet. On the first floor there is a hammock balcony with 5 hammocks. You can always ask for Vanh, daughter of the family who speaks good English.

We now also offer new hardwood bungalows along the river. Bungalows come with soft double bed, ensuite bathroom and balcony with hammocks overlooking the Nam Ou River.

As you may know, Muang Ngoi is a remote place surrounded by mountains without access to regular power, but the guesthouse generates its own electricity from a waterfall in the jungle, so all rooms have 24 hour power and light. The family can cook authentic Laotian food on request, and in the high season there is a daily Lao food buffet in front of the guesthouse.

We have a tour company that offers 1/2/3 day guided treks to the nearby tribal villages, fishing trips and visits to the nearby waterfall and caves.

The guest house offers rooms with one double bed or two single beds. Every room comes with:

Location Information

As you may know, Muang Ngoi is a remote place surrounded by mountains.

We have our own boat with soft seats and toilet which can be chartered on request for pick-up in Luang Prabang or Nong Kiau / Muang Ngoi.

Especially the trip from Luang Prabang is very scenic. Onward connection north over the river to Muang Sing is also possible.
