About Fisherman's Camp

Lake Naivasha, meaning ‘rippling waters’ in Masai, is surely one of the most beautiful and accessible places near Nairobi. There is so much to do, with even the way here providing one of the most scenic drives in Kenya.
Whether you plan to explore the local area, take in the wildlife, are on route to one of the many National Parks or simply to relax, Fisherman’s Camp is a great base for your Kenyan experience. Reachable in less than two hours from Nairobi, you have a great alternative to staying in the city. Escape the hustle and bustle and relax in beautiful surroundings, set yourself up for your adventures ahead


Now under new management our bar and restaurant has a new laid back and funky vibe with great food, music and atmosphere.

Freshly cooked food is prepared by our chefs, which includes our popular wood fired pizza oven for the best pizzas in Naivasha.

Location Information

Lake Naivasha is one of the few fresh water lakes in the Kenya Rift Valley, which is situated at an altitude of 6,200ft. Beyond the lake sits the Kinangop and Aberdare mountains, which reach up to 13,000ft. Behind the surrounding hills of the camp lies Hell’s Gate National Park, which is rich in game, geology and beautiful scenery. Further down South Lake Road is Crater Lake, home to a large stand of flamingo which can be seen circling the water’s edge.

Activities-
Lake Naivasha and its surrounding area have an amazing range of activities on offer within easy reach of Fisherman’s Camp. Hell’s Gate and Longonot National Parks, Crater Lake and Crescent Island game sanctuaries all offer wonderful opportunities to see game by foot, bike or vehicle. If you plan to stay for a while, lakes Nakuru and Elementaita and the Mau and Aberdare mountains are all within easy day trips. Fisherman’s Camp itself has a wealth of wildlife and beautiful scenery which can easily occupy a relaxing day. During your stay, day trips and activities can include:

Boats can be hired, with or without a motor, from which to fish for Black Bass or Tilapia. Fishing tackle is available.
