Only 2 km from the city center, Wildebeest Camp is Nairobi's first permanent-tented camp. It has beautifully-appointed rooms and deluxe safari tents (ensuited), peaceful tropical gardens but is still close to shops, markets, cinemas, banks and transport links. It is truly an oasis!

Wildebeest Camp is the perfect place to relax during your African migration! The friendly 'home-like' atmosphere is a great place to meet other travelers, or to just relax and enjoy the amazing gardens. The well-established tropical gardens are home to hundreds of varieties of plants and birds - and we even have a vegetable garden, as well as a variety of fruit trees.

We have a travel office on-site so if you need help with booking safaris, airfares, bus, train, day tours, rafting, balloon safaris, basically anything that you might need during your visit to East Africa - we can help!

Accommodation Information

There are many accommodation options with prices starting from only US$7 per person per night (camping) to US$30 per person per night for a private deluxe safari tent with private en-suite. All rates include breakfast.

Camping

* The price that you book on this site if for a camping pitch. If you need to use our tent and bedding this costs an additional 200/- per person. Just book the regular pitch and we will email you to ask if you will use your tent or ours.

Dorm bed

Budget room

* These rooms are small and cheap. Ideal for someone who just wants somewhere to sleep but wants to enjoy the nice surrounds of the camp.

Garden tent

- bedding included - cotton sheets, duvet, pillow
- bath towel

Deluxe safari tent

- huge walking custom-built permanent-pitch tent
- either a double, triple, or quad bed arrangement

- clothes rack
- bedside tables with lamp
- mosquito proof netting on windows and doors
- full electrics include lights and UK power socket
- ensuite with hot shower, basin and flush toilet
- outdoor deck with two chairs and table

Location Information

Wildebeest Camp is located in the Kilimani area on the just south of Nairobi city center. It is a nice, safe area with an interesting mixture of people. There are lots of handy facilities nearby the camp including ATM, bank, supermarket, chemist, hospital, cinema plus many different restaurants.

It is easy to catch either taxis or local transport either in our out of town. Wilson airport is around a five minute drive and JKIA takes around 20 minutes (with no traffic).

There are lots of attractions within the general Nairobi area and many of these are easy to visit on your own, while others are better to see in an organised tour (which could be arranged at our camp).

The camp is in a perfect location, being far enough from the hassle of the busy city, but close enough to take advantage of transport links, shops, markets, etc.
