Don't even look at another hostel, book this one right now.thank you for organise my trip around jordan including some sightseeings that were not in my guidebook and were amazing. He is also a traveller so it make me feel more confortable in an arabic country . The price is good and the room and bathroom were clean. Liked: The location.
Disliked: The reviews left recently for this Hostel were left by staff of the Hostel and are not a true reflection of the hostel. The airport pick up I had arranged months before and confirmed 3 times in the week before we got there never happened . We waited at the airport and they just didn't bother to pick us up. The Hostel is grubby. No free internet. We paid extra for a bathroom, but the toilet did not work and flooded the bathroom continuously. No towels were provided. It sounds great on the Hostelbookers site, but is a very different story when you stay there. The staff smoke throughout the hostel and sit at the only table in the common room most of the day filling the already overflowing ashtrays. The roof top lounge area was filthy, empty bottles and cans lay on dirty blanket covered lounges. Cigarette butts lay everywhere. It was truly repulsive. Every time we came in the front door, a man would pester us to do tours with him. We came and went numerous times in the day as we had our own hire car and yet he still kept at us to pay him to take us around. The hostel is staffed by unpaid volunteer back packers. While the manager sits all day on the computer smoking. Pay a little extra and stay anywhere else but here.

Liked: extremely friendly staff - from the very beginning with the emails from Mohammad to organise accom and transport from the airport, to the prompt tour organisation with great drivers to the main historical sites of Jordan and the BBQ's/parties that can be arranged on the roof top of the hotel / hostel. It has an authentic arabic feel from the carpets through to the mint tea :) I really enjoyed my personalised stay at bediwi hotel/hostel and highly recommend it. for people wanting reasonable accommodation at a good price.I really was surprised by the staff when I arrived, the taxi driver who met me at the airport was very welcoming and helpful, then they offer me a welcome drink and they give me a room to choice. This is the place where you can find yourself comfortable because of the friendly and very helpfull staff which made us feel at home. We put our luggage in storage (free)downtown Amman. Great information on all of the tours around the country and really helpful in organizing anything that we wanted to do. We will definitely stay again

Liked: The Bdeiwi Hostel and Hotel is one of my favorite hostels I have stayed in. From the moment I walked in to the door I loved the place. We were immediately warmly greeted, offered tea, excellent food and argile/shisha on the roof top. The roof was just one of the dream like aspects of the place- good music playing, the smell of the barbique, stories being told, all as you feel the fresh Jordainian air and look out to its picturesque hills, trees and whitestone buildings at the center of the city. On topof the roof. I also sleep good always and they have hot shower but I never find this in other hotel in Jordan!! Please go there and drink shay with the manager, he is cool! :)

Liked: Very helpful, sorted everything oput for us, very knowledgable about the different tours and options for travel, and hooked uys up with somewhere to stay down in Wadi Rum and Petra. Lots on offer and can do what you need, with plenty of infortmation to show the various attractions. The driver was great too, stopping when we wanted and negotating down prices with the various people selling stuff at all the attractions. Highly recommended, just a short walk from Rainbow St, near the shisha bars

Liked: this was the best place ever i loved it here they make me feel so comfortable and welcome also they plan great tours for around Jordan& offer sage tea and breakfast in the morning and bbq at night on the roof top with a fire pit and wonderful view of the city very enchanting... and close to town for shopping and exploring the local life... i will definately come back here always ,You won't find a cheaper hotel in the area and what you get for your money is totally worth it. I made a trip to the dead sea, karak castle and petra. Didn't pay much and had an amazing time and met great people! In the evenings we would chill out in the bedouin tent on the rooftop with shisha, beer and BBQ!~ My room was huge and had an own bathroom with hot shower which is not easy to find in arab countries. The staff is awesome! They were always there for me if I needed something and even greeted me with a smile and a cup of tea at 1 pm. I can really recommend this place. If you want to have a great location with uncomplicated staff and cheap prices I would send you there!

Liked: Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. A warm welcome, we were made to feel part of the family - invited to the rooftop to relax and dance with the staff - beautiful views over downtown Amman, especially at sunset. Free wifi in the rooms. Right in central Amman (5 mins from Husseini Masjid) and good deals on tours arround Amman - dead sea, Jerash, Wasi Rum, Aqaba, Petra etc. as well as airport pick-up/drop-off. I would highly reccomend it especially for backpackers. Lovely tea as well!

Liked: Bdeiwi hostel is an excellent place to stay and it is at a good price. Mohammed (the owner) is very helpful and will make you stay as pleasant as possible. Mike at the reception desk is also very helpful. There is also the rooftop which is a great place to relax and chill out, with a good view from the Downtown area. Also Jordan is a brilliant place to come visit - we loved the people - all super friendly - and is very safe. We visited the whole country north to south, and no security problems at all.

Liked: It was very cheap and in a good location. The tent on the roof was also a nice touch
Disliked: The room was very dingy and not what we originally had booked. There was bloke at reception who immediately cornered us in an attempt to flog much over-priced tours around Jordan with him. This kept happening several times a day during our 2 day stay. The last night, he even lied to us and told us our hostel in Petra (Petra Gate Hostel) was closed and that he could get us a deal with his mate there. He also lied to us about taxi prices and bus times to Petra in an attempt to get us to pay him to drive us there. If you really want a cheap place to stay in an OK location then this is OK...just watch out for the bloke at reception. My wife has travelled all over Asia and Africa and found the toilet facilities here disgusting which is saying a lot!

Liked: Not much.
Disliked: When I arrived nobody was there and I had to wait about 30 mins to check in. When I wanted to check out again nobody was there so I had to just leave my key and money on the counter. Not very clean, the plug socket seemed unsafe, Toliet, sink and showed where basically in a cupboard and was quite dirty and very bad water pressure.

Liked: It was cheap. Although there are lots of things that weren't great about the hostel, we didn't have a particularly bad time there. The other people we met were friendly and for around $7 a night you can't really complain. It is in a convenient location (just a 2 min walk from Downtown and a 5 min taxi ride for 2JD to the more-lively Rainbow Street). It is true that the hostel will organise taxi tours to all the major sites but we found it was cheaper to use public transport wherever possible.
Disliked: The doors didn't lock. Apart from one night we got locked IN to our room and had bars on the only (internal) window so it took a while and a panic to get out. A few rooms had en suite bathrooms but we estimated that 10 people were sharing one loo which didn't flush properly, or at all in some cases. The receptionist was pretty incompetent and tried double-charging us for our overpriced takeaway!! The system for recording payment obviously isn't sufficient and it was our word against hers. We didn't know much about Amman and it would've been easy to be pressured into paying A LOT more for things than we otherwise did e.g. the food, taxi rides where cheaper buses were available. There are some really cheap cafes and restaurants nearby that are worth scouting out. We found that our trip become more cost-efficient as we spoke to more (really helpful) locals about what was the cheapest way to do things. It's better to get talking to people rather than feeling pressured into accepting offers (/ orders) from the hostel staff.

Liked: I stayed only one night, and that was probably all I would be able to handle. The upside has been in-room Wi-Fi access - that is, until they switched the access point off for the night. I guess the location is good, but that wouldn't compensate for everything else. The staff is generally quite friendly.
Disliked: Most staff speak barely any other language than Arabic, making local inquiries extremely frustrating. Room facilities at the bare minimum, no light or TP in the bathroom, I completely avoided the shower. Most of the advertised complimentary services are non-existent. I really WOULD NOT recommend this venue even to the most low-budget traveler. I seriously don't understand how they got such an exaggerated rating.

Liked: It was in an excellent location and the staff was nice. Also the rooms were old but clean.
Disliked: They kept trying to push everyone to go on their day tours and eat barbecue. Though this sounds nice, they are complete ripoffs, so I do not recommend them. Also, they will try and tell you that the buses out of Amman (to Petra, Ajloun, etc) do not run on Fridays but this is not true so don't be fooled. Other than that, its a great place for the money!
