Customer reviewThe most important difference between this type of accommodation and a regular hostel or hotel is that it is a family-owned and -operated business that features traditional sleeping arrangements, for example, on the floor on tatami mats, offering the Western traveler a unique experience. So, it's more than just a place to stay, insofar as it's a Japanese experience on its own terms and very well worth it! The staff is friendly and helpful, despite lack of complete fluency in English; they understand more than they can speak, however, which does not prevent them from doing all they can to help answer any question the traveler may have. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and so I highly recommend staying at Sakura Ryokan in Tokyo. |

Natalie JonkThe hostel was very clean and also it had a traditional Japanese feel. The heated loo seats were a pleasant and interesting surprise! Also the bathroom was amazing including a huge hot tub to soak in after showering. There were fresh towels and dressing gowns were provided in our bedrooms. Also it was close to a temple which is excellent to visit, especially on Sundays. |

Dario MottaEasy wireless, international atmosphere in a purely japanese-style hostel. Travellers guides in english available on demand, many informative flyers around. Decent English spoken by the owners, better in any case than in other much better ranked hotels I've been. Very charming japanese bath. |

Customer reviewGood location. No english spoken but friendly front desk. Basic quiet clean air-con room & good in-room shower. Seems more a hotel than hostel so don't count on socializing in common areas. Recommended & would stay here again. |
