Vanessa WongWe stayed as a couple for our honeymoon for 4 nights. The location of this place is pretty good, it is approx 10min walk to Dogenzaka (the main street leading down to Shibuya crossing and the numerous shops/restaurants etc). Fairly safe at night and bus stop 1min away if you wish to use public transport (2 bus stops from Shibuya Station). Gentleman who works at reception is a nice character, very helpful and speaks good english. The lady doesn't speak much but is friendly and welcoming. Shower could have more attention when cleaned, but otherwise toilets and basins are clean and modern. You have to wear slippers once you enter the premises and leave your shoes in the foyer. My main disappointment was our room.. it was a twin private but one of the beds was an old futon/ day couch so it was uncomfortable to sleep on (they didn't attempt to hide it either as the couch cushions were there too). This is room #202 so if you get it, ask for another room! The room was a bit cramped, the gap/distance between the 2 beds was about 40cm so you had to sit on the bed to let another person pass. With a tv and wardrobe plus our 2 standard size backpacks it didn't leave much room to move. Another con, when someone near you opens their door, your door opens a little and thumps - perhaps there is be alot of air in the hallways? So in the middle of the night when people return home late, you get woken up by the doors thudding. The keys for your room are also on metal keychains which jingle like dog tags, so if you are a light sleeper like me, you hear EVERYTHING! We've previously backpacked around Europe for 3 months in much worse conditions, so our expectations are never too high, but there are a few things that could be changed/ improved at Hotel Fukudaya. |

Customer reviewNothing fancy about this place, but it's cheap, clean, and very close to Shibuya. Excellent choice for young/budget travelers. |

Customer reviewRooms were clean and functional and in an OK location, 15 minutes' walk from Shibuya. A japanese bath was on offer in the evenings from 6pm (on a one at a time basis rather than all-in communal). The lobby was the only place to meet people really and it wasn't the kind of place you'd linger, but there was a vending machine. A few of the staff spoke very little english but I had fun trying to communicate with my Japlish. I think they made sure the English-speakers were there during check-in time. The only think I found quite annoying was that the pillows were very hard Japanese-style ones, stuffed with dried beans. Trying to work off jetlag on those wasn't easy for me! |

Customer reviewHotel Fukudaya Is a great place to stay for not to much money. Mr. Fukudaya is really helpfull and trying his best to speak english. There is was helper who speaks very good english. at the service desk is always people to help you( till 0:30). They cleaning your room everyday about 9-10 in the morning. After that they put the air-conditioning on for you. So if you come to your room always nice and cool. Clean The shared shower is very clean, I think they cleaning it everyday. the Japanese Bath is also recommended. Service: I booked for 6 nights, but the 2nd night there was all room booked, so Mr. Fukudaya called me after my booking. and told me he has a altinative room. I could stay on a japanese style room. we slept on futon's, (thin matras on the ground) Futons was very comfortable. I prefer sleeping on the futon. Location In the beginning was very hard to find. even for the taxi driver. from Shibuya staion we paid around 1000 yen. But if you want to shibuya city.downtown it's only 15-20 minutes walk. 210 yen pp by bus. bus stop is 50meter from fukudaya hotel. outside fukudaya hotel there is also a convienient store 24/7 (AM PM)(40 meter away) Shibuya has a lot of nice restaurants, western food and asian food. a lot of shops. If you leaving to Narita airport i would advice you to leave atleast 4~5 hour before your depature light. because the rushhour and the lack of english of the JR/Metro conductors. I missed 2 times a the JR line, and missed the JR narita express. I enjoyed the place! would recommend to other guest! |

Sarah PresswellI absolutely loved my stay here, the manager spoke excellent English and the elderly couple that own it are really friendly and helpful and do their best to speak English too - though a lot of gesticulating was needed at times! I stayed in the Japanese room with a toilet no bath and it was beautiful, the beds are more comfortable than you'd think! The location is brilliant, close to Shibuya (15 min walk down a street full of good places to eat) but not so close that it's noisy all night. Shibuya itself was my favourite district in Tokyo, lively, trendy, always buzzing with people but never aggressive or pushy during rush hour as London (where I live) can be. Go to Tokyo and stay here, you won't regret it :) |

Customer reviewA little hard to find (even for the cab driver), but perfect location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can walk home easily after partying in Shibuya and you get a code to the door so you can enter any time you like. Beds aren't to good, but clean place and ok for a short stay. |
