Liked: A realy nice place, with charming and helpfull people. Big and beautifull room, very clean. A delicious japanese breakfast !

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful, and seemed reasonably comfortable with English. The rooms have a distinctly Japanese flavour which was refreshingly different from that of the generic hotel rooms I stayed in elsewhere. Excellent instructions on how to get to various places in Tokyo were provided, and the quiet neighbourhood is a very different Tokyo from the heavily trafficked tourist-heavy areas, worth experiencing in its own right. Would definitely recommend this ryokan.

Liked: I've stayed at this hostel twice - once in 2007 and then again in 2010. The family that runs the place is really nice and literally goes the extra mile to help if you need it (the owner walked us to an ATM late at night during a crazy rain storm). It is about 15 minutes away from Tokyo main station / akihabara via the sobu line, Koiwa stop (not to be confused with the shin koiwa stop). Make sure to tell them where you are planning on going, they have handhouts on how to get to the main tourist attractions. The place is a pretty solid mid-level ryokan, and you'll get a nice room with good bathroom, tatami mats, yukota robes, and tea. If you want a snack then make sure to stop by at John's Kebabs just down the road.

Liked: Very traditional Japanese style of accommodation and environment. My kids loved the place and lots of restaurants around the area. About 5-10mins walk from the train station to the hostel and considerably near to Tokyo Disneyland Resort. Would go back to Fuji Ryokan again if i ever visit Tokyo as it is really worth the value.

Liked: Friendly staff who were very willing to help and spoke some English. It was in an area of Tokyo that was quite far away from Shin-juku etc but was still in a good area that was quite easy to reach from the airport by trains.

Liked: The staff were so friendly and gorgeous, the atmosphere was terrific... after a busy week of hostels, it was lovely to spend some time in comfort, with everything we needed in our room. The little streets near the hostel were great to wander around.

Liked: The customer service at this family-run Ryokan was amazing. For example, It was late, raining cats and dogs, and we needed to get to an international ATM. So we asked for directions...and the Mr. grabbed an umbrella and walked us to where we needed to go! They were great.

Liked: If you're looking for a Japanese-style inn, this is the place. Everything about it is Japanese in style, minus the toilets. The staff speaks minimal English, so you'll have to brush up on your conversational Japanese if you decide to stay here. It is pretty close to Tokyo's nightlife hot-spots if that's what interests you. There is a curfew of 11:30pm, but if you're going clubbing in Tokyo, chances are you're going to be pulling an all-nighter.

Liked: This hostel was quiet and relaxing, with a good atmosphere. A wonderful place to stay with a family, a less than happening place to stay with a large crowd of friends. The personality of the people working there, however, was top notch.
