Liked: Very clean and modern. Staff were very helpful arranging all of our personal trips, ringing around local beyas for us to see Sumos train and where to go to get hot springs at Fiji Mountain. Would highly recommend this hostel. Japan is expensive and relatively speaking this was very cheap.

Liked: Sleeping on the traditional Japanese futons was really nice and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Really nicely decorated bathrooms!

Liked: Very close to everything. Its five mins to Ueno and thirty to Roppongi.

Disliked: very cold at night.

Liked: The staff were extremely helpful and friendly! They were always happy to hand out maps and advice! For the price it was a pretty good location. The free coffee was REAL coffee!

Disliked: The kitchen was sad; there was no space and few utensils. Our room was right near the bathrooms and we could hear everything! 100yen for a shower is annoying.

Liked: Aizuya was great. I highly recommend renting a bike. Biking in Japan is easy and takes roughly the same amount of time as taking the train and at 500yen per day is much cheaper!

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Nice staff, nice atmosphere, all the facilities you need.

Disliked: The futons we slept on were the thinest futons I ever slept on. You might as well be laying on the ground without it. Same goes for the pillow. Very small room. Once the futons are out, you don't have much space left for other stuff like your luggage for ex.

Liked: The folks at Aizuya Inn were very helpful. I also enjoyed all of the eclectically decorated bathrooms, my particular favorite was the Hello Kitty one. And during those humid Tokyo summers, thank heavens for the working air conditioning! The shower didn't bother me, it actually takes a fair amount of effort to use up all of the 5 minutes of hot water.

Disliked: It's Japan: the rooms were a tight fit, and we were two wee Chinese girls ourselves. It's definitely a bit out of the way, and sometimes a rather long subway ride to the main sights in Tokyo.

Liked: Liked the good value for the money you can get for having a single room!

Disliked: Coin-operated shower was very unpractical cause you always had to think about collecting 100Yen coins.. A Power distribution would have been of advance since there are too few sockets.

Liked: Good instructions made it very easy to find, and close to the convenience store. Not too hard to get to major train stations. Free use of soap/shampoo, clean facilities. Great value for money.

Disliked: Wi-fi was very finicky for me, and dryer did not dry clothes after 1 hour (the same clothes dried in 30 minutes elsewhere). The cleaning agent used for toilets has a weird smell.

Liked: Nice and clean, had many toilets and wash basins, free WIFI and internet downstairs. The hostel is a 10 minute walk to the station. The neighbourhood surrounding it is quiet and seemed safe at night.

Disliked: The rooms barely allowed enough space to put your luggage after you rolled your tatami mat out to sleep. The kitchen and washing machine are in one tiny room. It is barely a kitchenette in my opinion. I understand why the showers are coin operated (to save water), but need the cook tops be coin operated too? Nonetheless they are too cramped in the corner to be used. The dryers above the washing machines do not work adequately to dry your clothes for the time allowed. We were told to keep our voices down at 9pm. If you want a livelier (ANY livelier, really) atmosphere, or just want to have a normal chat with your friends, go elsewhere.

Liked: Free wireless internet (so your phone can connect). The staff have great English language skills

Disliked: To much to say about disliking, the shower cost 100 Yen for 5 minutes but really that isn't bad. Yes the rooms are small but the cost shows that.

Liked: The place is much cuter and more charming than it shows in the pictures. Super clean and tidy. Staff was great.

Disliked: I believe the nighborhood is quite safe, but it's best to be alert especially at night.

Liked: It had everything I was expecting in a hostel; clean, safe, all facilities including free internet, as well as being warm and welcoming. I enjoyed the ryokan experience.

Disliked: It is in a safe and quiet neighbourhood, but it does take a 10 minute walk and then quite some time on either the metro or JR line to get into town.

Liked: It is a nice and quiet place. Rooms are tiny but are faithful to japanese style. It is a good value for money. The owner is very helpful.

Liked: Although the room is tiny, it is still worthy of staying at this price. I would recommend a budget traveller choose this hostel.

Disliked: If I need to name one, I would say the location is a bit far from Shijugu or Ginza. However, it's quiet around the neighborhood. You may have a sweet dream at night after a long day walking.

Liked: It was my first contact with Japan and I like the japanes atmosphere. Also I like a lot the carefull and friendliness of the staff. We lost our three JRpass and they found it and take care until we return to look for. Great people!!!

Liked: This is probably the best hostel ever!!! There is no question about it. Perfect location in Tokyo (10mins walk from Metro) and 2 minutes away from the supermarket. The hostel is spotless clean from top to bottom and the staff does make sure it stays that way. The traditional Japanese style rooms with tatami mats and futons create the right travel experience while you are stying there. The interior decoration is absolutely great and makes this place unique. It is something every guest can explore himself. Enjoy your stay, I can recommend it because I am sure you will not be dissappointed.
