Liked: Very friendly staff and a clean safe place to stay. Easy walk to Metro subway and JR station. The inn location was 3 subway stops from Ueno so you get to see and walk around some suburbia of Tokyo as well. Well organised with shared kitchen, 100 yen showers, washing and dryer facilities. You are able to get a key to the main door (pay a deposit) if you wish to stay out past midnight. Good value for money and a good introduction to experiencing ryokan inns.

Liked: It was located in a very quiet and safe place. I found it to be a very clean place as well. Although the location is far, it may be the reasons for the price to be cheap.

Liked: Free coffee and internet. The place was clean on surface but our room was smelt of sweaty feet. The Staff were really helpful and nice. But having to pay for all extra's including a shower seemed a bit out specially as we stayed in five star hotel for only 25 pound more

Liked: Gives you a taste of a traditional Japanese house - similar to a Ryokan. All rooms have tatami mats so if you have health problems or are over a certain weight, best to avoid. Rooms were small but clean with small TV and efficient air-con/heater. Good showers for 100 yen extra and free drinks. Internet with LAN connections but no wi-fi. Good location for JR routes in and around Tokyo once you have found the place. Staff will help with planning specific sightseeing, etc.

Liked: the staff was very friendly and helpful . it was near the metro and also a good place to be if you need to be near the airport and the train line that goes there. it is quiet at night but close to the metro that allowes you to go to other places in the city that may not be so quiet. it is within walking distance of some large temples and attractions - generally a good place to stay - and i would stay there again if and when i go back to TokyoFerdinando Spina / Canada/ Italy
