Liked: Good location because it's right by a large market and some good restaurants.

Liked: excellent place to hang out & meet other travellers alike. i had a great time here with sakura hostel. very friendly & helpful staff as well. arigato gozaimas~

Disliked: they should organize more frequent gatherings/pot luck every week.! other than that, they are fine. :D

Liked: Clean large room. Computers in the common room. Good value for money. Excellent location. We were given a four person room for the same price as a double as they had no double left - excellent.

Disliked: We had to go outside to go from the room to go to the bathroom. In January weather this involved putting on several layers!

Liked: Good location for exploring the near by temple. Subway 5 minutes walk away and easy to get to from airport.

Liked: Big hostel with lots of travellers to meet. Free wifi. Friendly staff who were helpful.

Disliked: Annoying power sockets that I couldn't use to charge my phone (even with the travel adaptor, the socket was located under the lamp upside down which meant the whole thing kept falling out!)

Liked: Owner was very friendly and helpful. Great location in Asakusa. Free internet!! TV and couch in natural sunlight lounge/lobby. Free hair dryer to borrow. Lots of personality and character.

Disliked: Have to bring your own lock or buy a lock to use locker.

Liked: This is a very good hostel with plenty of character and is popular with both backpackers and families. The staff were very friendly and helpful when asked. It is extremely clean and also has the usual array of services on offer: lockers in the rooms, washing machines, free internet, tv/DVD etc. It is a 24-hour reception which is extremely useful given the nightlife of Tokyo and also if you arrive like I did by night bus from elsewhere. There is a large variety of different nationalities that stay at Sakura, making it great to meet people and interesting. The hostel also offers fair rates considering it is in Tokyo.

Disliked: The only negative of the hostel is that it is placed in an alleyway behind a shopping arcade making it difficult to find if you are not entirely sure of where you are going. It is also about a kilometre from the nearest metro station.

Liked: This is really a fantastic hostel and excellent value for money. The rooms are great (we had a private twin - clean with really comfortable beds and a small balcony) and the bathrooms are spotless. The staff are really friendly and there is plenty of information at the hostel about things to do and see around Tokyo. Free wifi on the first floor is fantastic as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Liked: Beds were really nice, blanket was soft too, seemed like a treat from a hostel too. Staff were friendly and helpful, although I wish they gave me a map when I first arrived, rather than when I left.

Disliked: I couldn't get the internet working - and it was only available on the ground floor in the lobby (also where people eat - so not much room). Would prefer the option to have it in my room.

Liked: I have traveled extensively through South America, Central America, Europe and the United States and For the price...Sakura Hostel is excellent. They have a great location in Asakusa, a charming staff and it is so clean!

Liked: Cheap; very near the touristic center of Asakusa

Disliked: Having booked a female dorm and being told upon arrival that I had to change to a mixed dorm. The 8 person mixed dorm is too small. Breakfast is very poor.

Liked: Very clean hostel. AC in the room and lobby are fantastic during the summer. Staff is very helpful. Free wifi is great as well.

Disliked: Location is a bit hard to find and it is a bit of the way, but once you find it and get used to the tokyo subways, it's not bad at all.

Liked: They had various activities for the guests like weekly shows and celebrations.

Disliked: The bathrooms were not air conditioned and could get quite hot if you stayed long enough. They did not get as hot as outside though.
