Liked: LOVED J-Hoppers Takayama. Everything you want in a hostel: clean, spacious, safe, secure, new, very friendly and helpful staff, great place to meet people, fantastic central location -- high marks across the board. Was very pleased. My favorite hostel yet!

Liked: It is really close to the train station (about a 3 minute walk). You sleep on futon mats- very traditional. The room was small, but clean. Staff were very friendly.

Liked: This place was great - close to the train station & bus center, and to the old town area. It's walkable to pretty much anything you'd want to do - or to transportation. The rooms and showers were nice and clean, and each bunk had a reading lamp - something I personally appreciated. What was most impressive to me was the huge amount of common space - a room with a tv and some sofas, a huge kitchen, and another smaller room with a table and a few seats. This was a great place to stay in a beautiful, relaxing mountain town.

Liked: I was out of the seasion so the village was empty und not so much tourist where there !!! Very nice to stay during these time. And if the weather is bad, go to an onsen and releaxe.
