 This place has great Character and Atmosphere, and the staff were verywelcoming, even though we arrived late at night.

I really liked the atmosphere, it is cozy and nice to sleep on futons. The staff are nice and the place is clean! It's only 4 stations on subway (200 yen!) away from Shinsaibashi, the major shopping and entertainment district. As mentioned though, it is definitely not soundproof and anyone talking even on the 1st floor you can hear throughout the whole place! Know that if you are in the mixed dorm you will be able to hear more, especially on the bunk-bed style beds on the top which aren't closed off from the hallways. An automatic light would come on and wake me up every time someone was walking up the stairs! The private rooms look super cozy though, I plan on staying here again only in one of those!! Bonus free internet, tea, and of course we met some cool people from all over the place :)

it was very clean, very nice staff, very near osakas castle
they spoeak english and there is olots of useful infomation about osaka and surroundings
higly recommended hostel!

Very relaxed atmosphere and extremely friendly staff, almost like a hippie commune. Decent location for Subway/Train links.

The staff were brilliant! So friendly! I couldn't find the aquarium so they go tout all the books, maps and then proceeded to write a detailed account of how to get there direct from the hostel. Really, really good! Lovely building too, brilliantly decorated and free internet. Fantastic place.

The staff are fantastic - thanks guys, we had a blast!! The japanese style rooms are beautiful and the breakfast service was much appreciated. Staying here was a wonderful introduction to Japan. Can't recommend this place enough.

We had such a lovely time at Guesthouse U-en, the staff were wonderful and so helpful. They all speak pretty good english too so that was a bonus! We would definitely go back there.

hostel was clean and room spacious..free internet access was very helpful but no download facilities,so great to check e-mails and update friends and family....was not very happy about shower facilities,but we are in the 50plus age range....the young backpackers I am sure would have no problem....

Wow! What a great little hostel, full of character and very helpful, friendly and funny staff. I only stayed one night, but wish I could have stayed longer. Would recommend this hostel to anyone and would stay there again should I go to Osaka.
