Liked: The staff were very nice and they had a lot of info for the traveling persons. I enjoyed the privacy and would not mind staying again.

Disliked: Facilities are amazingly cold during the winter. I wish there was more heating for public places.

Liked: Very, very cheap. If you're on a tight budget you won't find many cheaper. Ok location, within walking distance to Shinsaibashi and Tennoji but any further and you may want to catch the train. Luckily the subway entrance is right outside, and the JR and Nankai lines are a 5 minute walk away (making it very easy to get to and from the airport). Fast wifi! Despite my dislikes below, I still paid to stay several more nights, the price was just too good!

Disliked: Stayed in mid winter and it was COLD! Very cold. The basic room type I had came with a footwarmer but that didn't really seem to do anything. Slept rugged up in double layers. The bed is a thin futon on the floor and is not very easy to sleep on, but I've had worse. The pillow is a small bean filled thing and is hard as a rock, I had to wrap it in my much softer jacket. Facilities are a bit grubby and there is only one shower block of two showers, but I showered easy enough by avoiding peek hours of use.

Liked: the price is cheap and the japanese style bed is comfortable

Disliked: have to share bathroom the staff do not clean the room everyday . as i stay for 10 days so it is quite dirty in the last few days the staff cannot speak english well .. but this happen in japan quite often so it is ok

Liked: The stuff was friendly and helpful.

Disliked: All private rooms smelled really badly, a shower is shared between many ppl, so I was surprised that there was no que. However once I entered it I realised why. Showers were incredibly smelly, old and unclean...

Liked: It's a no frills, very cheap hostel. The rooms are small and very hot without A/C. But it's exactly what you would expect for the price. The area by the hostel seemed fine to walk around in day or night. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Liked: Good Value for money, probably best in Japan. I saw washing facilities being cleaned both days I was there. Right next to metro station.

Disliked: The area of town its in is interesting, another side to Osaka and to Japan in general.

Liked: Great staff who we watched the Asian cup final with and gave us a few drinks. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The hostel isn't nice, but you get a bed, free internet, somewhere to get clean etc for basically no money, especially by Japanese standards. If you don't mind a little bit of rough than do it.

Disliked: The showers are a bit rubbish.

Liked: It is nice for people travelling together that want a private room. No dorms available and not many chances to meet other travellers. But the rooms are nice, Japanese style with TV and small fridge.

Disliked: There was no kitchen available, but at least hot water, free coffee, tea and a microwave!

Liked: For these prices, don't expect a palace - but do expect kind and helpful staff and decent facilities. Ideal for backpackers and outdoorsy goers, can't recommend if staying at the hostel is something you do a lot.

Disliked: Cleanliness had something to hope for.

Liked: nice and helpful staff, good atmosphere, interesting people to meet, fantastic price (~13euro/night), 24h showers, subway and konbini nearby, hot & cold water available (which you could also use to fill up your water bottle without having anyone complain about it), sayounara-present: beautifully crafted origami-crane, help with finding anything you searched for + providing of detailed area maps, lounge was really cozy

Disliked: showers and toilets smelled funny all the time, were cleaned only by watering them (but toilets were disinfected daily, maybe that's a plus -.-), small bugs flying in the shower & constant fear of getting athlete's foot (luckily there were 105yen-flip flops available in the 100yen-shop behind the hotel, which we used as bath slippers), only 2 showers in the only shower room at the first floor (occupied most of the time, especially in the evening --> ~6 o'clock AM was the only time no one wanted to shower (except me of course)), took cheapest rooms (1500yen/night, without aircon) and were constantly dying of heat in the rooms (which smelled funny too, btw, but i guess that was the tatami's fault), location was quite ...interesting, as it seemed like the skid row of osaka (but, having visited other parts of osaka, maybe that's just how the town is) (also, you could meet many funny and silly people on the street), no bath towels (--> 100yen-shop), the rooms were reeaaallly small (but we used them only to not-sleep (because of the heat, not other things) in the night, so it was ok)
