Liked: well, we were the only guests at the time we arrived the hostel so we had the whole floor for ourselves which is a rare opportunity for itself...!but i liked the place very much...wished we could have stayed for more than one night!

Liked: It backs on to a pine forest and is a pleasant walk into Nikko, so it,s quiet. The lady who runs it is very friendly and even drove me up to the onsen and to the station as I,m a bit spazzy when walking

Liked: the owner was incredibly friendly and kind. the rooms were extremely affordable for the price. the lodge was right beside a beautiful river that was very calming. Te owner also had lots of information about the area that was useful- she recommended a local onsen that was the cheapest and best in the area.

Liked: The owner is so unbelievable lovely. Although she can't speak much English, she made us feel unbelievably welcome and even dropped us and our huge bags down to the railway station when we left. It's a bit of a walk to the lodge, but fully worth it. Loved all her craft she had around the lodge - made it feel so homely!

Liked: The lovely place, the owner put a lot of teddy bears and dolls around the house ^^ It smell of wood. And from the dining room you could drink your hot coffee or tea enjoying the sound of the birds and the nature ^^ Great place ^^

Liked: This is a great little place for an authentic Japanese stay. It has a cute and cottagey atmosphere. The staff are lovely and speak some English. Breakfast wasn't advertised anywhere, but we asked and were given a feast for only 500 yen. We felt extremely welcome. And the futons were thickly-padded and comfortable (very important for me!) Two thumbs-up.

Liked: The lady in charge of the hotel was amazing! She looked at my reservation, greeted me with my name, showed us around the entire building, and helped us figure out what we might want to do the night we got in. She tended to speak a mix of English and Japanese, so even if your Japanese isn't that good, she'd probably be happy to attempt to translate things into English. The room we stayed in was a tradiational tatami mat room with futons: lovely and comfortable, complete with a closet, TV, table, and side room to change in, if you're staying with a friend. All and all, I loved this place! Though, if you get in at night, I would recommend using a taxi to get there, because it is dark in that area and there are very few street lamps.
