About SPACE riverhouse
Free wifi internet everywhere (optic fiber connection) including the beach, the open air lounge, common room, private rooms and annex rooms. There are also 2 iMacs in the common room.

There is a tea pot / kettle upstairs in the main building if you bring soups or something. There is also a refrigerator for guest use in the tea corner. Help yourself to green tea and black tea anytime.
You can hire bikes for 500 yen for the length of your stay.
Short hikes are nearby. There are no souvenir shops and no city lights. Only stars, trees and mountains. There is no curfew, so you can enjoy the stars at night.
Nikko Japan has many hiking trails.
All rooms are Japanese tatami style (private rooms have locks on doors) with futon, except the 8 person mixed room has beds.
Checking-in : Free shuttle from 4pm to 11:30pm from; Fubasami station on the JR Nikko line or Shimogoshiro Station (no phone at this station so call before you get on the train.
Call before you board the train so that we can meet you at the pickup station. We can’t pick up at JR or Tobu Nikko.
Every morning, sometimes twice, our free shuttle takes guests to UNESCO World Heritage (Toshogu Shrine, Futarasan Shrine, Rinnoji Temple, Shinkyo Bridge) or to JR Nikko and Tobu Nikko for guests to catch the bus to Chuzenji / Senjogahara / Yumoto Onsen.
Take the airport bus to/from the area?
Consider the All-Nikko Pass from Asakusa, the Nikko Free Pass, rent-a-car or even get to-and-from the area with Narita / Haneda Airports direct buses.
Snorers must sleep in the private annex riverside rooms and are absolutely not allowed in the mixed room in the main building unless your in a group that reserved the whole room.

We are located in a wonderful remote area in Nikko on the fringe of Nikko National Park on KuroKawa. There are no souvenir shops and no city lights. Only stars, trees and mountains. You can swim in the river at the hostel and short hikes are nearby.
Although, we are not walking distance to any train station or world heritage Nikko, we have a free roundtrip shuttle to Fubasami station on the JR Nikko line and Shimogoshiro Station (closer, but no phone) a Free morning shuttle to the UNESCO World Heritage (Toshogu Shrine / Futarasan Shrine, Rinnoji Temple & Shinkyo Bridge).
After visiting the UNESCO World Heritage (Toshogu Shrine, Futarasan Shrine, Rinnoji Temple and Shinkyo Bridge) or Oku-Nikko (Senjogahara, Yuno Lake, Yunoko, Yumoto, Mt. Nantai, Kegon Falls, Mt. Hangetsu, Yudaki Falls) and when you want to come or return to the hostel, take the train to Fubasami on the JR Nikko Line or Shimogoshiro on the Tobu Nikko Line. Call us before you board the train.
