Liked: Very helpful, friendly staff! The lodge itself is nice, the food there is great, and it's in a good location.

Disliked: A number of small additional fees. Nothing major, just a slight 'nickel and dimed' feeling.

Liked: Very helpful staff in planning day by day itinerarys. great location, very close 15 minute walk to the station and beautiful setting. fantastic place to stay!

Liked: El sitio tiene encanto.Las habitaciones dobles son espaciosas.

Disliked: Apto solo para los que disponen de coche de alquiler. Ofrecen el desayuno demasiado tarde como para aprovechar bien el dia. Muchas cosas que otros hostels en Japon ofrecen gratis, aqui son de pago.

Liked: Good and quiet location in Nikko ,nice path trough the forest.

Disliked: Very bad road indications...need to be improve especially for people which arrive at night.

Liked: Very cute place to stay with a nice atmosphere. Friendly staff, good food, and nice relaxing atmosphere.

Liked: Next to a park. Nice and quiet. Walking distance to town, as long as not too much luggage. Only minor concern was it was the first hot day of the season when we were there and none of the AC units would turn on (the inside fan came on but not the outside compressor - so no cooling; probably AC was just turned off for the winter/spring). But it cooled off nicely next morning so not a big deal overall. We didn't eat there but their food did not look appetizing at all. We would stay there again.

Liked: The breakfast was good, but rather pricey. The location is very far from the station...which is a pain when you are carrying luggage to and from the hotel. Also, the hotel is far from everything (sights, restaurants, etc).

Liked: its an awesome place! only minus, its quiet far from the centre. you can walk, but kinda taff with all the luggage as its on a hill. but i think they have a pick up service for money.

Liked: We had an incredibly unique loft room, which had an area to socialize and beds upstairs. All of us thought the room was really interesting and fun to be in. The staff was very friendly and the meal options were reasonably priced and delicious.

Liked: I had a very nice stay at Nikko Park Lodge. The staff were very friendly and were helpful in recommending things to do in the area and went out of their way to help me with arrangements. The prices for everything not included in the package (food basically) where rather high so I recommend that visitors ask the staff for restaurants in Nikko village.

Liked: Hostel located on a hill about 20mins walk from the station. Look carefully for the direction sings as they are hard to spot after dark.There's charming lounge with fireplace, very cozy and warm during wintertime, rooms are basic without lockers but still clean.The electric matresses are a wonderful thing for long and cold winter nights.

Liked: The common room is very cozy, and has a homely feel. 395 yen for toast and coffee was a little steep, but it did seem to be unlimited. However, only 10 people were staying there then, so there was plenty to go round. The experience would have been much better had that been included in the price of the room, which again was pretty high for a dorm room out of Tokyo. Having said that, the staff are very friendly and it's located out of town amongst the forest which is beautiful. Don't be put off because of its location, as it makes walking to the temples and shrines easy. It's about the same distance to the train station where you have to wait for a bus.

Liked: Freindly helpful staff, rooms a little cold (heater took a while to heat up the room). The location of the lodge is fairly isolated - there are no restaurants or shops around until you head back to Nikko tobu station, so if you're coming in late remeber to bring some food or snacks - they do offer some meals but not a large variety.

Liked: This was an amazing hostel. Felt like a chalet in the mountains. Exceptionally helpful staff, plenty of activities on offer, and very comfortable. I loved it, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone going to Nikko. The only downside is that I only had one night there.

Liked: Staying at Nikko Park Lodge was as comfortable as staying at home. Very quiet as its surrounded by trees. The curry dinner plate was delicious!!!
