Liked: A great hostel- so lovely inside, the staff couldn't help you enough. Very nice atmosphere. Everything worked well and was well stocked. So much information about Nagasaki and all of Japan. Even postcards and stamps so you don't have to go to the post office to buy your stamps!! Very welcoming and friendly. Really nothing to complain about at all. :D

Liked: The staff was really helpful and kind and the place was spotless. It is easy to see why they have won so many awards. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and if I ever return to Nagasaki I will visit again!

Liked: Loved the room and lights, the common room (although it is a bit cramped), the location, and the helpful staff.

Liked: Great hostel. The entire interior is very Japanese and the dorm room was beautifully decorated, exactly like in the pictures. Good location, nice common room / kitchen, very friendly and helpful staff.. What more can you want?

Liked: The staff are beyond cool and helpful. The place as a friendly feel to it and you get the impression you're staying with friends. Tomo and Kaz were awesome. Especially Tomo who accompanied us on a small trek through the neighborhood.

Disliked: guess going 3 floors up for your room is a bit hard after a full day of walking, but that's life.

Liked: Beautiful dorm just like the pictures, also a beautiful riverside loaction. Staff really helpful and nice common room area and kitchen.

Disliked: computers were a bit slow but im being really picky!!

Liked: The staff were SO friendly and helpful - they let me come in and out of the hostel so many times (even before/after I'd checked in/out) and also gave a lot of useful information and cool map about Nagasaki. Sitting down with the staff over a cup of coffee was really nice and something you don't get to do at many hostels. Bed was comfortable and the shower was REALLY spacious and clean.

Disliked: Nothing at all - it was great! Highly recommended. If I ever went back to Nagasaki I'd definitely go back here.

Liked: nice staff, have very good map of Nagasaki with lot of advices and sightseeing. They organise free tour of the city with local people, which was very great and interesting! Good kitchen, room clean

Liked: This was probably the best place I stayed in Japan - the staff we unbelievably kind and friendly - even helping me book in ANOTHER HOSTEL in a different city. Do not think twice about booking here, its awesome!

Liked: Akari is an EXCELLENT hostel and the staff really contributed to the fantastic time we had in Nagasaki. The hostel organises free walking tours with local residents, a night drive up the hill to see the city lights and offered us many other recommendations on places to eat, things to see, where to stay in the next town we were visiting etc - they were really great. The private twin room we booked was spacious and really clean - everything was great including the free wifi. We'd definitely stay here again.

Liked: really nice rooms. finally some space in japan :) great location just a short walk or streetcar ride from the station and 5min walk from the very center. also nicely located next to the bridges and a shrine. very nice staff. rooms were relatively warm and heated quickly (in winter).

Liked: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the map they'd provided for central Nagasaki was probably the best I've received at any hostel I've stayed at in the world. It was also incredibly homely and clean with a great feel about it and bundles of character.

Disliked: It was quite cold but this is normal in Japan. The Wifi didn't reach the top floor which is a little annoying.

Liked: The Staff is extremely helpful, and very personable. Akari is probably the the best hostel in Nagasaki and the price is really quite good. I will stay here again if I'm in Nagasaki!

Disliked: Hot Showers don't start til 8am

Liked: really nice place with a very good welcoming !quite and not far from the center and really close to a lot of templesits a really good place and everyone speaks a good english !

Liked: The welcome package was extremely useful. Also, the owner was very kind to accommodate me, despite my late arrival.

Disliked: Nothing in particular - the 2 beds were at different levels, which was a bit strange, but not problematic.
