Overview
Welcome to Takahan Ryokan. Takahan Ryokan is a modern hotel in the resort of Echigo Yuzawa. Takahan Ryokan encourages its guests to observe the local custom in its oval tile tubs. In addition to relaxing bath, it offers to the guests marvelous food.
The onsen is located in high Mikuni Mountain Range. The hot spring water is classified as simple thermal and is good for high blood pressure, sluggish blood, rheumatism, neuralgia and nervous disorders. This is also a ski resort. In winter, the local customs take a bath in the hot spring between skiing and sake drinking.

You can see the Kasumi Room where Nobel Literature Prize winner Kawabata Yasunari stayed and wrote "Yukiguni (Snow Country)" and also the literature museum. See the natural hot spring that has been gushing out for over eight hundred years relaxing visitors.
