Liked: Mr. Ichiro Yumoto is probably the nicest and most attentive man on the planet. From the experience with the hot bath to the food to the traditional Japanese style accommodation. The experience was amazing!

Disliked: The smell of the rooms were a little wierd due to the carpet.

Liked: The family who run this guesthouse are fantastic, extremely helpful, delightful people. The Japanese food on offer is amazing and the accommodation very well equipped and ridiculously clean!!

Liked: Wonderful little guest house, the owner was really nice and we got picked up and dropped off at the train station. Great Japanese style breakie for 800 yen and the steaming hot onsen (which can be booked privately) was welcome relieve from the February cold!

Disliked: Bit far from the action but the bus system is good and Matsumoto is hardly a sprawling metropolis. Perfect for cycling.

Liked: The Japanese hosts went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were fantastic - especially the yoghurt and honey!!! They collected us from the station and dropped us back again. Very clean, comfortable and enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend.

Disliked: It is a fair distance from the station so a little more challenging to access.

Liked: Free bike use is great. Convenient location and *very* helpful staff. They'll help with picking up from the train station and dropping off there. The directions they give for buses are also very clear and much easier than I thought they would be.

Liked: Extremely helpful staff, picks you up from the station (although there is a bus). Nice place with a nice hotbath downstairs. Bike use for free. A nice selection of places to eat near by.

Disliked: The location isn't exactly central, but if you use a bike it's less then 10 mins. to the castle.

Liked: Everything there is more than excelent. The owner and his wife are like old friends. At Seifuso you will feel in your home far from home. Go there and check by yourself.

Liked: Being a budget student traveler, this place was a bit of a splurge for me, but I wanted to go to Matsumoto, and the options seemed rather limited. I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The ryokan was lovely, and I really appreciated the chance to experience more traditional Japanese accomodations than the big city hostels I had been used to. In my 11 day trip in Japan, Matsumoto was one of my absolute favourite stops, and this ryokan was just one of the reasons for this. It was a bit out of the way, but with the free bikes, it was not a problem. Charming town, charming guesthouse.ps. breakfast is totally worth it!

Liked: they made me feel like the honored guest in their home. The onsen is great. The location is beautiful and relaxing. Very romantic, even for a single traveller.

Liked: Nice and soft beds. Friendly atmosphere. Free internet PC. It is a bit out of the way, but largely compensated with free bicycles.

Liked: I wanted to stay in Matsumoto to visit the Caslte. Matsumoto is quite a big place, and this hotel isn't exactly close to the centre of town, but it has very well kept traditional Japanese style rooms and does a good breakfast in the morning.If I ever go back to Matsumoto I'd definately stay here again.
