Liked: We stayed in a traditional Japanese twin room which was fantastic and had a view of Mt Fuji! The room was warm, comfortable and serviced daily by the staff. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English very well. There was free wifi through out the hotel and computers to use. There was also free hot drinks 24 hours. The bathrooms were very clean. Cannot complain for the money. There are newer properties out there but they cost 3 times as much as this and this hotel met all of our needs and more! Its a 5-10 minute walk to the lake and cable car, 20 sec walk to the station (bus and train) and 30 min walk to Fuji-Q theme park. This is the only hostel we have rated 100% in 5 months of backpacking so far!

Disliked: No kitchen which is a shame because food is expensive in Japan. You do get hot water though so you can buy pot noodles, etc.

Liked: It locates right infront of the train/bus station that were so convenience to go around the area. The price is just reasonable. You can see Mt.Fuji from your room window.

Disliked: The noise from the passing cars but it did not bother me that much.

Liked: I really liked the staff there! So helpful and nice, letting me and my friend stay at the common room til late after check out cause we were waiting for the night bus. I do recommend!

Liked: The onsen spas on the top level were awesome, but quite run own. From in the bathroom you can see mt fuji tho! they should def cut the overgrown shrubs that block ur view, tho. is falling apart a bit, but the best ull get in the area on a backpackers budget. is way better location than the ks house hostel down the road near the lake cos u cant see mt fuji from anywhere else. this hostel in directly in front of it. It was an older hotel really, not actually a hostel. they had a kimono dress up are which was awesome for photos!

Liked: Fantastic location for sightseeing around lake Kawaguchiko and Mt Fuji. There are 2 onsen baths on the top floor if bathing with strangers is your thing and the hostel is very clean. This hostel felt more like a hotel than a hostel.

Disliked: No lockers.

Liked: very good location (so close to the station) with view on Mt. Fuji, very helpful and friendly staff with excellent English knowledge, very good price-value-balance, nice rooms, bathroom with Mt. Fuji view on the top floor (very recommended)

Disliked: close to the rooms was a smoking area and it smelled in our room from there when somebody was smoking; the toilet/bathroom on the same floor was not very comfortable but clean and ok (I prefered the shared bath on the top floor for washing etc)

Liked: Helpful staff, Good location right next to train station. Clean. Baths to try. Staff are genuine and accommodating.

Disliked: Not right on lake kawaguchio / not right in the touristy area but convenient to the station and access to transport. No access to cooking facilities. No sink. Things can be put in a fridge if you ask reception. Hot water/ tea coffee available but thats all so self catering can be harder. Restaurant next door and shops nearby. Public areas are tired but clean.

Liked: the Staff is AWESOME, we could shower before check inn, free drinks, we went to the 7-11 and askes for some boiled water for the noodles, he said i will cook it for you, go sit in the restaurant and enjoy............... best service ever!everything is cleaner then clean

Liked: This is a gem of a hostel for anyone going to the Mt.Fuji area. It's location is awesome, directly across from the bus station, which is great when your coming and going to Mt. Fuji or other surrounding areas. It has a hot tub on the 5th floor, which provides a superb view of Mt. Fuji. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help you. There is a lounge area where you can play darts or have a drink. Both the rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean. I would recommend this hostel to anyone going to the Mt. Fuji area.

Liked: The onsen on the top floor is great. You get a great view on Mt Fuji if you're lucky. We stayed in a dorm; the dorms are very good, actually. Due to the beds there, you get a lot of space, comfort and privacy. There is a lounge; it lacks all atmospehre, but since there the computers are there, it's a nice place to talk to fellow travelers, while drinking the free coffee or tea.

Liked: The location is great for arrival and accessing the train station and buses to the whole area. However, there is a loud traffic signal that tends to ruin your sleep after 8 am. It's the pedestrian signal over at the train station. No sleeping in!The bath on the top floor offers a sublime view of Fuji.

Liked: This is the best hostels I've ever stayed in. There is everything that travelers want. Free internet 24 hours, free luggage storing, a bed with your own space big enough to clear your stuff in the backpack, and helpful staff who can speak English very well. There is shower room and hot bath room, which are very clean and convenient. And the price is cheap to stay in this hostel.The restaurant that is connected to it is rather expensive but it's your choice. If you stay in the hostel, you even get discount. Oh, and they even make the bed ready for you. No need to put the sheet on the bed by yourself. And the location of the hostel is perfect. You can never miss it coming from the station.And you can even walk to the Ropeway and the Lake Kawaguchiko.I recommend this place to everyone. No doubt that it gets such a high rating.
