excellent location, friendly staff - only bad thing is late check in (3pm), but can leave bags with them and they will be in your room waiting for you later.

I liked the friendliness of the staff and the fact that it had an elevator (though VERY small) instead of carrying luggage up and down three or four flights of stairs.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpfull. They really make you feel at home. It is very close to the station from where you can easily take a bus to go sightseeing. All rooms have their own (tiny) bathrooms.

proprietors are very nice and have been of real support when we needed help, plus they gave us advices on which place to go and visit and made our stay easy and of value

The staff were fairly helpful despite limited english, the location is the best feature. A few minutes walk to Kyoto station. The room's aren't the nicest rooms around but good enough for the price. Does have a bit of traditional flavour to it. Does have internet, but better if you have your own laptop as theirs didn't work all of the time. Free use of umbrellas was nice. For the price and location, can't go wrong. Anything else is being picky at this price.

The manager was EXTREMELY helpful - I missed a train one night and without me requesting, came to my room and drove me to my destination. He always arranged taxis for us on request and always ensured we were directed correctly to our destinantion.
The location is perfect if you wish to get out of Kyoto train/bus station and get to your accomodation fast - its very centralised in its location! I highly recommend this hostel.
