 Located in a traditional part of town away from the crowds. Decent room - had everything except a fridge, but the TV didn`t work. Friendly advice from the owner about best places to visit.

bike rental is cheap 700 yen
very friendly owner, gives you all information what to see.

Owner was helpful with tourist information but was very pushy in suggesting itenarys. Rooms were old, and not the cleanest. Especially the bathroom was quite smelly

The hostel owner realy does seem to work 24/7, he sat us down and gave us loads of relevant information when we arived, even did some magic tricks

Its easy to get to, only 220 yen to the door from a JR station. lots of help from the owner. 30 min walk to main part of Kyoto

english speaking staff, they have wifi, its at just 5 minutes from Kyoto Station, and theres a bus stop very near.

It was intersting to stay for the first time in a traditional Japanese Hostel.
It was really very good place near the Bus stop and not far from Rail Station.

Very friendly man who ran the hostel. Sometimes I felt like he was trying too hard to help us, but some of his advice and information really helped.

Kind of musty and a little noisy at night, but the caretaker is more than willing to give you any help or advice you need (lots of pride in his city).
