Liked: The Sakura Hostel was so cozy, it felt much more like someone's home than a hostel. The price for a private room with brand-new tatami mats was a steal, and the entire hostel was immaculately clean. The common area was small, but sufficient for the size of the hostel, and definitely conducive to conversations with other travelers. The staff were always around to help, and were so personable that at first I mistook them for other travelers! Plus, the location is convenient to both the JR and Keihan lines. I will definitely return here next time I need a hostel in Kyoto!

Liked: Exactly what you need from budget accommodation and for a very good price. Free internet with multiple computers which is very useful and incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

Liked: A clean, nice place with Super friendly staffs. Affordable and close to the station. The room was a bit small, but I guess that's the typical Japanese style yadoya room.The lounge area was very comfortable indeed and pc's for free internet!!It's radically cool that the (free wired) internet is available at the lobby and also at each rooms.

Liked: This place is very close to Rokuhara mitsuji temple. Fortunately they had a traditional event that time we enjoyed it.Sakura house has rental bikes that was convenient for us.

Liked: I had a really good time in Sakura House. Location is convenient, easy to go to the famouse temple's area. Also, the good udon restaurant(BENKEI)is near. I stayed in the clean&comfy tatami room. Everything was fine. I'll come back soon!!

Liked: Nice staffs and good quiet private rooms.There are not near the amusement area,but the walking zone to the famous temples as Kiyomizuand shrins as Yasaka is brilliant. The hostel has free internet and private shower rooms as well. Would stay there again next time visiting Kyoto.

Liked: Hi! I've just arived Hiroshima.In Kyoyo, the hostel sakurahouse I stayed was just renovated the rooms so the room looked new with new tatami , and I could feel the atmospher that I was in traditional Japan . And to me,it was easy to find the place with the map, because the people I asked the location on the map instructed me the place kindly. All things I've experianced in Kyoto went very nice while I stayed in this sakurahouse.If I have next oppotunity to be in Kyoto, I'll cirtainly stay there again!

Liked: I stayed in the private room. It had a bunk bed, night stand and a small area to keep backpack/suitcase. Everything in the room was clean and it included an airconditioner that you can adjust according to your needs. Shower rooms are at every floors. They were ALWAYS clean.The reception desk people were very friendly and helpful. Neighbourhood was great for exploring down town and temples easily.. about a 15 - 30 minute walk depending on how leisurely you want to be. I love Japanese style Bath Muy bien! There are 4 PUBLIC bathes near the hostel .The nearest is 30 seconds walk!! I recomend you this hostel and you'll know I'm not a Joke maker !LOVE Kyoto!

Liked: Absolutely awesome. The staff are Japanese-style-friendly and you have access to a proper kitchen and plenty of great shower rooms at every floors.The lounge area is very comfortable indeed and many PCs for free internet!! There are Mac & Windows. The bike rental in this location is really fantastic! There's a real good Japanese udon restaurant (Benkei)and 100yen convinience store near the place!Also ATMs for 24Hours are abailable.About 5 minutes walk from Kiyomizugojo Station at this place. Why go anywhere else?The place is quiet! And it's NOT expensive!!! What else?

Liked: Great deal for a private room (domitory price!!). There is free internet access with Wi-Fi. Bathrooms and the beds are on each floor. Staff is very helpful. Overall, this place more than satisfied my expectations.

Liked: They've just renovated the rooms so the room looked brand new with new tatami mats and new walls. Super nice and clean! It was easy to find the place with the map and instruction on hostelbookers. So close to down town. Stuff are very friendly and helpful. The kitchen has everything and the 100yen store near the station is great! Only 100yen for washing machine and you can hung it on the roof top. Amazing view from there! Will 100% recommend this place and come back.

Liked: Room was run down, and tatami mats smelt old and mouldy. Hard to find, the google map came up in a completely different suburb. Decent kitchen, the laundry machine were broken when we visited, would have stayed elsewhere, but all others where booked out due to public holiday. Not recommended, last resort only.

Liked: Very good location to down town and temples. The bike rental is great!The place is cool with big kitchen and free internet!! I ended up extending my stay. There's a real good udon restaurant and 100yen convinience store near the hostel! The staff were really great, more of a friendship than a staff & guest relationship. I would totally recommend it to anyone.
