Liked: Although the room was fine, downstairs was a very unclean place. It was more a dirty student house then a hostel. The kitchen was dirty and the living room a mess. Do not try to call the hostel in the morning because the staff is not awake and lets the phone keep on ringing! Although the hostel is close to one of the stations in Kyoto, it is not close to the major sights except for the Philosophers walk, but also that takes quite some time to reach.I would recommend this place for those we seek the student life.

Liked: the location and the private shower in your room. other hostels that i have stayed at where i got a private room did not have this specific accommodation. VERY friendly and helpful.

Liked: The atomsphere is good, and the staff there was nice. However, the dorm doesn't have a lock so almost anyone can access your stuff. There is no wi-fi internet that you can use, you can only use their computer. The location was difficult to find because the map doesn't point to this location.

Liked: Enjoyed fresh, clean 3rd floor room with ensuite. The common room was a heavy smoker's delight reminiscent of my late 1960's student flat apart from the large flatscreen TV. Surely a great youngster's meeting place. Staff friendly. Free laundry facilities and internet.Directions good to nearest train & bus station. Then we aimed for where map pointer indicated.WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! -if pointer is still north of Demachiyanagi station.Thats about 25 minutes away from house. But can be easy: off the bus. go back to nearest street(Higashiichijo Dori). Turn right. Walk(past the Family Mart on the left) to the traffic lights. Turn right. Guest House is on the left at the next corner.

Liked: This hostel is impossibly hard to find, the directions on the site are very poor. The location of the hostel itself is not very good. This place seems to cater more for travelling Japanese, therefore if you speak some Japanese you may enjoy it, if not the atmosphere is ver poor. Saying this, the hostel is clean and the staff are helpful.

Liked: At the time I stay here, everything quite well especially all staff. They offer their kitchen, washing machine and perfectly free internet. I think this place is properly to the traveler who seeking a chance to participate young Japaneses and modern Japanese's life.
