Liked: A traditional Japanese house that gives a more authentic Japanese experience than the usual hostels. It is a house, so the one dorm room is quite small (basically only large enough for a bunk bed and floor heater), but that's to be expected. The family who owns it (and lives there) are very nice, and will be able to help you with most things (Hide recommended probably the best temples to see for me).

Disliked: No tv, though that's not really a dislike, but if you just want to chill out in the evenings or while eating it's kind of nice to have something on. Also because the hostel is small and only one "dorm" room there's not a lot of interaction with other people, which I didn't mind but some people might.

Liked: It's very convenience to get to many attraction areas. Easy to access from Kyoto station. Altjought the dorm room is quite small but the house make me realize the real daily living of Japanese people. I don't mind about the tv or any luxury stuffs, free good wifi and hot water are enough! I didnt see a locker since I dont have such a valuable thing but my passport which I carried it all the time, I didnt mind leave a huge luggage in a room.

Disliked: A bit noisy while someone was walking because floor made from wood. For whom who love a party should not stay here. This is the real peaceful, quiet and lovely guesthouse.

Liked: Everything! It was so nice to stayed there. I spend amazing time in Nagomi! The family was very kind.

Disliked: Atmosphere.. It was very familiar.

Liked: Very helpfull staff. A lot of informations about the city and the neighbourhood (restaurant, onsen, café, buses). Nice Japanese style.

Liked: clean room, washing machine only 100 YEN per filling

Disliked: house has to be shared with host family, room without anything at all (no TV, no small table...), towel only for rent, very dangerous steps, door can not be locked - too expensive for such an accomodation

Liked: The couple who run this guest house are very nice and made my time in there. I liked the feel of a very small place in a local area. They had a samll local map which was good and everything they said to do was very good.

Liked: Hide the owner is very friendly and helpful. Far from the station but handy to visit the sights in northern area of Kyoto and more traditional neighborhoods. Be sure to buy a daily bus pass for 500 yen from the bus drivers. Also many sentos nearby. Free coffee, tea and internet and washing machine at reasonable price. A bit chilly inside.
