Liked: Very friendly staff, always happy to share any piece of info they could provide you withMultilingual place, very nice especially for the price paid one of the lowest found on internet. Don't expect a 4 star hotel but the facilities are clean and the location is almost perfect

Liked: I have been in many hostels around the world, india, china, cambodia, thailand... and I never had been in a hostel like this. It was the worst hostel I have been in my life. The toilet (only one) it was very very dirty, and the horner Oliver was so antipatic, agresive, rude (no japanes). He sell courses in english but he is not a teacher... We stay 3 nigths at the firts but at the end we only stayed 2 nights... (we paid for 3 nights) the smell and the rabish it was horrible.. we are 8 persons with the same opinion. we prefered lose our money and go to search an other hostel.I allways book in this page but is my first time with bad experience. I hope hostelbookers check this hostel before recomended.

Liked: READ THIS! the hostel itself is very nice.but it is very far from the center.the owner named oliver thinks that when you check in you actully join to the army.he was very unpolite,aggressive greedy and talked to me and to the other guests like we have to stay there.after you checked out it is even worse.the joke of tonight you will sleep outside repeat to many times.me and the other guests had the same immpretion from this guy.nobody wanted to stay there but everywhere else was fully booked.i didnt feel welcomed there and i would deffently recommend you to find a different place to stay.every night before i came back i thought how much i would prefer not to see the owner again now.the girls that work there do their best to deal with the unexpected boss.usually i dont waste my time on feedbacks but this owner was the worst that i have met in all of my travels around the world!i felt like im being watched all the time.stay there only if you have no choice.again - the hostel itself is ok.be prepred to feel like an unwelcomed guest in a strangers home.it is not really a hostel -it is a home stay located in a nighbourhood far from the center.you will stay on the second floor of the house.immportent: he will want you to pay only in cash for all of your stay.if you will decide to move or to cancell a day later you can forget about your money and he will tell you what he thinks about you very aggressively.i think that the option of paying day by day is also not in the menu.do yourself a favoure a go to another place!enjoy your stay in kyoto!

Liked: Pro:Amazing movie collection.Con: The owner is weird and irrational. Better not complain or make remarks or you will be threatened to be kicked out, regardless of having already payed for the entire stay.Internet access is 400 yen/30 min and you aren´t allowed to share the access.The showers are in the "kitchen" (microwave, fridge and sink), there is no place to put one´s clothes in the cabin. There are no lockers.

Liked: nothing!!! if you want to go to the loo in a place that stinks of and is covered in urine, you want the creepy owner to be your best friend one minute then your worst enemy the next and you enjoy spending 2 hours looking for a hostel becasue it is down an alley way and no one has ever heard of it, not even the large tourist info at the station!!! do not waste your money on this place! the owner is out to scam every penny out of you that he can so just dont bother going there to givehim the chance!

Liked: Nice and kind staff, but nor a very social place. When I got home I was the only one there and so.. the other places I ve stayed were much more social etc.But anyways, it was a nice place and I liked my stay there.

Liked: the nights i stayed, there was no one else there. Was a nice hostel had tv and dvd in room so at least had that company.

Liked: Although the locations isn't the easiest to find, the staff was friendly and helpful. The sleeping rooms were average, but the main lodge is very cozy and facilitates the meeting of other travelers. The shower also isn't the greatest. However, I would recommend staying here. It's quite a bargain for the money, and the place has a nice welcome environment.

Liked: easy to find(but unfortunately hard to identify because address "664" not indicated and no hostel sign outside), "found" it right away but had to wander around with luggage because the place was not identifiable

Liked: Very nice stuff. The Hostel wasnt easy to find thou, It doens have a sign or name outside, theres a language school in the same place thou, use that sign as a reference. Also the hostel is in the 2nd block, before the 3rd and after the temple on the right (not the small shrine on the right of the 1st block)

Liked: Nice guesthouse but a little bit far from the center of Kyoto. After 11pm there are no more buses, for night life it is not the best.

Liked: pretty nice for the money! clean and friendly. the room was a bit cramped (dorm) but that's to be expected i guess. easygoing staff made for a great stay.
