The private room is great... free wireless internet. Also i would suggest taking up the rental of the bicycles as Kyoto is very easy to bike around and you can get to all the temples with ease. The bikes are great fun. The man who runs the place is a really nice guy and very helpful.

Nishijin area is located in north west area. Bus 206 in front of Kyoto station will drive about 25 minutes. It is famous for beautiful textile for centuries. If you want to see how traditional female's luxury dress be waved, you could see a catwalk show and buy souvernier for friends there, it's so convenient. About 15 minutes on foot. The house you will stay is a very tradional Japanese home, surrounding with quiet alley and lanes. 2 floors, straight wooden stairs to climb to upstair. I thought it is home-stay style of vacation.

The host was so helpful in suggestions on where to go. I stayed for 1 week. The house is an old Japanese house. Very comfortable though. Quite near to Nijo station in north west Kyoto. Would recommend to anyone.

Hostel manager (Sayoko San) is very kind, nice and helpful. She has many knowledge about Kyoto. Her hostel is like our home. It's tidy but very attractive. You will feel real Japanease life and atmosphere.

The host was one of the nicest people we met on the whole trip. He even got up early to see us off when we left and was very helpful with making our Kyoto trip perfect. Just for that alone should be enough for everyone to go to this hostel.
The place is great if you're looking for a real japanese home experience. Although small and a lot of the stuff at the hostel were pretty old, it was very comfortable. In fact the futon and blanket gave us the best sleep in our entire trip in Japan. The location itself is great since it's dead center of the city and the day bus pass made it extremely easy to see everything we wanted in Kyoto.
100% will stay there again.
