Liked: The hosts were so kind and helpful! Staying at Ks Hakuba Alps was a wonderful break away from the city. The kitchen and lounge area are fantastic! Rooms are cosy and warm. I will be back!

Liked: Toshi and Megumi were fantastic and went far beyond their duty in looking after me. I stayed in the low season in late September, and so the hostel was nearly empty. On my first day Toshi suggested a hike up Karamatsu-dake, which was fantastic. I'd highly recommend it (if you are OK with heights). On the second day I was the only person in the hostel, so Toshi drove me to a great soba restaurant deep in the mountains, followed by a (free) outdoor onsen. And then in the evening he cooked me dinner. If you're thinking about staying here, particularly if you've enjoyed another K's House, just book it already!

Disliked: The trains to Hakuba are infrequent, but what do you expect, it's the countryside. It wasn't a problem for me. There are only two restaurants in the town (steak and pizza) but both are pretty good, and the staff are friendly.

Liked: The hostel in the mountain area with cosy living room makes you feel at home instantly. The owners are very friendly and speak well English. The hostel is clean and the kitchen has all supplies needed. They have a lot of Japanese animation movies, as well as a library. As soon as you step out the door you are in the mountain area. To be recommended for all who loves nature, skieng, hiking, biking and a clean and friendly place to stay.

Liked: Toshi and Magumi were the best hosts you could possibly ask for. Some of the nicest and most helpful people i have ever met. The location was great. A couple of minutes walk to Goryu for the snow, with plenty of food and drink nearby. Awsome atmosphere. Very friendly

Liked: Free internet, TV in common room with range of movies, nice facilities, nice kitchen, great town. I would definitely recommend this place if you are coming in the summer-time up to the Hakuba area. Close to hiking, staff speaks decent English, close to train station.

Liked: Very friendly visitors and staff. A very clean facility in an out of the way mountain neighborhood, but with great access to Hakuba. I recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Japanese alpine culture. The price is very fair.

Liked: The atmosphere was really peaceful and the staff amazingly helpful and friendly. Decor is modern and spacious - clean and well kept. Yet comfortable and homely at the same time. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone.

Liked: The staff is really friendly and allways present to help you arranging all kind of things to do around. The place is also very clean. If you are planning to go to around Hakuba I would say that this is the best place to stay

Liked: The staff were incredibly helpful, and even took us to an onsen and supermarket in the area. Definitely the best hostel experience we've had during our stay in Japan.
