Liked: I did not spend a lot of time in the property as I stayed one night and arrived late but I had enough time to see how friendly/nice/welcoming this hostel is! 1/ there's an onsen inside the hostel!!! great!!! it makes it a good place to stay for both single travelers and families 2/ I arrived slightly after 9 pm (supposed to be closing time) and the person in charge waited for me and also gave a ticket for a drink at the bar (which everybody gets and which i used straight away :D ) 3/ I had booked a dorm room but was upgraded to a private room for no extra money 4/　people in charge are more than welcome to help u both with travels (e.g. selling u bus tickets to Fukuoka with a 35% discount with respect to the "self bought" ticket)

Disliked: nothing (no I was NOT paid to do this review!! :D )

Liked: Likes - Near to the train station. Rooms pretty much as standard but also have lockers in them. Common areas good. It was quiet when I went but the way it was layed out meant it would be easy to meet people who were there.

Disliked: The main issues I have with this hostel is the bathroom. There was 1 shower room on my floor. I went hiking one day and was in need of a shower when I came back. The water started cold and took a good 15 minutes to begin to warm but never became comfortably warm. The next day, similarly - I gave up in the end as the water remained cold and then cut out (presumably when a tap was turned on elsewhere in the building).

Liked: Excellent place, very japanese style, excellent staff with many information, free bicycles, good internet ...I warmly recommend it to everyone !!

Liked: The staff was so helpful and friendly. They didn't mind that we arrived rather late our first night and someone was even at the desk waiting up for us. The rooms are really big and the onsen at the hostel is a very nice touch. Probably the best hostel we have stayed at.

Disliked: We liked everything.

Liked: The hostel is good - free internet, onsen bath in the hostel, good ktichen, comfortable beds... a great base for a trip to beppu.

Disliked: I just didn't feel very welcome here. It was a personal thing I guess. The staff are all travellers themselves, and were perhaps a little bit unfriendly, not chatting to anyone passing through, but staying in a bit of a clique. But no one was actually mean!

Liked: The kitchen is spacious and the common area is clena and felt like home. There's a bit of everything from tv, manga, travel guides, and the best is waking up and taking a morning run and returning to an onsen in the guesthouse.

Disliked: I don't really have complaints.

Liked: Kaoshan is the best u can find!!Staff is friendly and helpfull, the onsen is great, really big kitchen,room perfectly clean, and good position... what else??

Disliked: You can't drink alcohol (the thing is that perhaps you would drink a beer or two during dinner, but you can't...). Anyway, you can go and drink the beer at a bar ;) if you want it xD

Liked: LOVED IT ! Super helpful and nice staff, great common areas and free internet. Spacious kitchen and there was nintendo wii as well. I also loved they had onsen in the hostel, you should totally try it. Rooms were clean and cute. Good location, not that far from the JR Station. Next time I visit Beppu, I will stay here.

Liked: The staff was excellent and very helpful. The facility was traditional Japanese style with beautiful stone ofuro. The offered free bikes, maps and drinks.The price was very reasonable!!!!!!I would highly recommend this place to my friends.

Liked: Their onsen was nice and relaxing to use since no1 seemed to ever go in there. A bit of a walk downhill from the train station. The free sake nights were good fun.

Liked: they have a onsen in the hostel. Bit outdated but very relaxed. Rooms are clean, 2 commonrooms and big kitchen. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.Bikes are free to use, but don't use them to visit the hidden onsens in the mountains or the ' hells area' ... you need a better bike for that.i would definately recommend this place

Liked: This hostel is gorgeous! Very nice and clean and great to have free internet and amazing to go to its own onsen at the end of the day! I would definitely go back to this place (I hope it will happen one day)! Tidy rooms, very nice kitchen so it's absolutely a 100% hostel for me!
