Zhengfang PeiIt's a good place to stay in for the trip to Venice if you choose to use the hotel's shuttle. Only that the hotel's description of the way to get there on the Internet is a bit confusing. It should have described this way: It's very important to get off the train at Venezia Mestre (not at Venezia S.Lucia). Buy a bus-ticket (1.10 Euro) at the newsagent before you get out of the station. Take ACTV bus NO.25 just in front of the station, Because it may not be easy for you to identify the bus-stop sign in Mestre area, it would be wiser to get off the bus at the last stop, then walk straight forward, and then turn right. It's about 5 minutes' walk before getting to the Hotel Villa Dori. |

Customer reviewThe staff were really helpful; when we arrived, the man at the desk took out a big map of Venice and took us through all the important destinations, as well as good places to go in order to get our money's worth. The room was nice, pretty big with a bathroom. |

ANDRE GUEDESFacilities are great, rooms are clean and organized, bathrooms are perfect. Although the hotel does not have an ideal location, they offer cheap service for transfers to Venice and also to keep your lugagge and leave it with you by the time you leave the city. It is definitely worth it paying for Venice Villa Dori! |

Chris LaurionThe facility was a little difficult to reach off the economy, however, if you work with the facility beforehand, they offer plenty of options to get you to and from their establishment and the airport/railway station/Venice Proper. The concierge was phenomenal and made the entire stay worth the price. For only 2 euro we received a map of Venice that was complete with a 30 minute doodle session showing us all the eating hotspots, tourist attractions by recommended priority, and public transportation travel times. We actually ended up using the same map for Florence and Rome as well since they were included. Overall, a great experience. |

Customer reviewThe best thing about this hotel was the helpfulness of the staff but the worst was that they nickel and dimed us for everything -- 3 Euros for 30 mins. on the internet and 2 Euros for a map, though it came complete with recommendations on what to see and where to eat from the staff. The hotel does have shuttle service but it runs only in the morning and at night during scheduled times, for which you must make a reservation. You can just as easily take the bus -- it costs less but takes a lot longer. If you have a car, parking is free at the hotel and they can tell you of a cheap garage just outside of Venice. There is a supermarket and bakery within walking distance and the area is very residential. We hardly felt that we were in Venice! The grounds were very nice, the room was clean and spacious, and they had a great shower but the walls were thin and our television was broken. Still, we would definitely return to this well-run hotel at a good price. |
