Liked: The room my friend and I shared was nice enough. But we were supposed to have an ensuite which was not the case even though we paid for it.

Disliked: The staff a very unhelpful They dont have computers They didnt even have maps! This is not a hostel

Liked: Not much

Disliked: Extra charges for towells and a front door key. Reception shuts at 12pm and front door is locked. We were not informed of this and as a result ended up locked out. When we came top leave in the morning we were locked in. God knows what would happen if there was a fire! Room keys are left hung behind the un-manned desk, free for anyone to pick up and help themselves to your room. Bathroom wasnt clean and was tiny. The staff were completely unhlepful and just there to take the money. No wifi!!

Liked: You'll be adressed as "Sir". And it is perfectly situated within the city centre, it's a walking distance of 5 minues to san marco.

Disliked: Sooooo much. "Mould in the bathroom", don't trust that comment, that's by far not everything! If you think, you just need a place to sleep on the island, that is sitauted within the city centre (as we did) don't choose this hostel, because you will not get one quiet minute of sleep during the night (i wish i was exaggerating). If you visit Venice in summer it will get incredibly hot during the night. And because Casa Linger has no air conditioner, it will be impossible to sleep with closed windows (if you want to avoid turning on the fan, which is packed with mould colonies). But it will also be impossible to sleep with open windows, for the good people of casa linger didn't put up any moscito nets to prevent batallions of moscitos from entering your "sweet" home. If you like moscitos and loads of scratching, you will definitely love your stay at casa linger. Plus, if you open the window, well, at least in our room, you will hear a generator throughout the whole night. Trust me, after 2 hours of generation you will swear Bob the Builder is trying to make love to robo godzilla right outside your window. Apart from not being able to sleep at night, you will surely enjoy the funny smell that is porbably provided by the mould within the walls and the carpet. The carpet is a wonderful masterpiece of bacteria batiking. Also, Casa Linger has some security issues. We were able just to take our key whenever no receptionist was around, which was about half the time we entered the hostel. At night, since the reception is closed after 12 pm, no receptionist will be around, but you will be able to borrow the key for the main door. And since you can enter the main door, you have access to all other doors whose keys aren't taken for the night. Plus there's no safe at all. Most of the lamps in our room were broken, to be exact only the main light was functioning at all. You will also enjoy the tiny bathroom that seems to be cleaned every christmas eve. Please enjoy the mould decorations. At least you got something to cuddle with. I mean, Italian hostels usually aren't what you expect to be comfortable, especially if you are looking for a reasonable price, but it goes: bad - worse - casa linger.

Liked: The location was fantastic, just minutes from the Grand Canal.

Disliked: For the amount of money that we paid we expected a higher quality, for example regarding the bathrooms.

Liked: Clean beds, sheets and pillow cases. A shared fan in the room which was essential during hot summer nights. You are given your own key so that you can come and go as you please. Small room and balcony for casual hanging out. Great location and relatively easy to find.

Disliked: Pretty good hostel. Nothing for me to complain about.

Liked: I stayed in a room which was in a separate building from the main hostel. It only had one room with a bathroom. It was nice, people staying there were nice and casual.

Disliked: Very very hard to find. The sign was very small and it is normal to just pass it by. Also, the room was really hot. NO fan no air conditioner. It was not like a hostel, it was more like a room shared with four people.

Liked: Comfy room, nice view, great location

Disliked: No atmosphere, although in it's defence it was a hotel though I believed it to be a hostel. Few facilities, no wi-fi or internet connection. Very heavy key that I had to lug around with me. Tiny toilets. Paid a fair amount of money, although it is Venice I guess.

Liked: It's location was not too bad. You could walk everywhere, which means a lot in Venice (the cheapest form of transport are validating and they cost 6.50 euros. The linens were clean but the carpet and bathroom wasn't. The luggage was just stored on the floor at reception which could be safe depending on how observant the person there was.

Disliked: The directions to get there are wrong. There is a ridiculous flight of stairs to get to reception. There is one tiny bathroom so if someone is taking a shower and you have to pee you can't do anything. The door to our room took magic to open and close. They didn't give us a map which is seriously necessary in Venice.

Liked: Even though I paid for the dorm, they gave me my own room at a different location (about a block away). It was great to have my own room, and the placce was clean.

Disliked: The staff are not very helpful (wouldn't even give me a map or help with any planning). No extras are provided (towel, tea, coffee, breakfast, etc.)

Disliked: theres quite a few stairs if your old but not a problem for us. its hard to find but everywhere is hard to find in venice its not their fault

Liked: We had a beautiful room with a magnificent view, we could see St. Mark's from our room. The bed was very comfortable, there was lots of space. Reception was available from early in the morning until midnight so you could always talk to someone.

Disliked: When we first arrived the receptionist informed us that we were "lucky" because they had upgraded us to a double private ensuite. Repeatedly during our stay they kept saying this to us, but we had paid for a private double ensuite. It made me think that there was a chance that we wouldn't have had that room, however we did pay for it. In addition the cleanliness was so-so. There was hair in the bathroom in various places and around the room. Simple things that are easily taken care of with a good cleaning job.

Liked: Nothing. NOT WORTH THE MONEY

Disliked: All the staff I encountered there were rude and exceedingly unhelpful. The heater in our room would not turn off, so the room was sweltering hot - got eaten alive by mosquitoes when left the window open. Also there was no hot water in the showers for one whole day- had to take a cold shower. This was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what I received. Plus, they switched what building I was staying in 3 days before I arrived. I had already been traveling, so I was not able to check my emails that close to my arrival date and thus had to trek all over Venice just to find where I was supposed to stay. HOrrible.

Liked: Location location location! Cafe with coffee and croissants right down stairs!

Disliked: It smelled like mold in our room. Didn't love that you had to leave the key when you left the building either.
