Liked: I loved staying at A Venice Fish. It was the first hostel that I've stayed in. The staff is great. Everyone that we stayed with were really friendly and respectful. Free dinner and 5 euro all you can drink Sangria were a nice surprise. It was very clean and the location is great,

Disliked: Hillary left no negative feedback.

Liked: Cracking Location, Good atmosphere and a great place to meet fellow travellers also a free meal is provided every night.

Disliked: Of course the 10.30am - 2pm lock out.

Liked: Really nice place to meet new people! During the free dinner you can interact with other everyone. Very good atmosphere and helpful staff. I would definitely come back!

Disliked: The fact that you have to be out of the hostel from 10am till 02pm and that there is no reception after 12am.

Liked: Venice Fish was one of the most fun hostels we stayed in the whole of Europe! The free dinners were a great place to meet people. The staff and manager were absolutely fantastic!!

Disliked: Would be great if there were lockers and more bathrooms - but for what you pay it's clean and most of all great fun!

Liked: Amazing location in a quirky old house on a canal in one of the quieter sestiere a little bit away from the tourist crush, where you'll see actual Venetians going about their daily lives. Friendly staff and wifi in the common room. Dinner was a nice touch.

Disliked: Dank, dark, and a little dirty. What everyone says about the bathrooms is true.

Liked: Seemed like it would've been a good party place

Disliked: My train arrived at 7 am. I sat outside in the -4 cel it's weather fr an hour until someone was awake to let me in. Only to be told that check in isn't until 4pm ( yes 4pm) and that I can leave my bags but have to leave until then. This was at 8 am after not sleeping at all the night before. I got back at 3:30 to them checking a couple in convincing them to stay at their partner hostel as it was much better than here and doesn't have the extra costs. I didn't k ow there were extra costs, he then explained to them that here you must pay €5 compulsory for linnen, plus a euro a night tax, not making this place very cheap. After the couple left at 3:45 I asked to check in, rudely he looked at the clock and said its not 4 yet and walked away. I grabbed my bags and left for another hostel after that. I've been travelling 2 months and this place is by far the worst.

Liked: A very social hostel- Staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. If your not a social or outgoing traveler it's probably not the place for you. Free dinner served in the common room which is a good opportunity to meet other travelers but its a very small hostel so meeting people isn't very difficult.

Disliked: The lock out between 10-am2pm which is a major downfall seeing as this hostel promotes drinking and parting. No kitchen for guests. No signage of the hostel on the streets. Only 2 Bathrooms. No Bar

Liked: I really enjoyed the dinner in the evenings that brought all the travelers together in the main room. It was a great way to meet new people.

Disliked: I was not a big fan of having to leave the hostel from 10am to 2 pm for cleaning. This also made it hard in the morning to use the bathroom, because everyone was doing there last minute things. There is only 2 bathrooms with showers for the whole hostel.

Liked: The location was excellent - only about a 10 minute walk from the train station in Venice. The dinner is a good chance to chat to other travellers.

Disliked: Had to pay 3 euros for linen, which was not advertised on website. I don't mind paying but I would have preferred that just to be included in the cost of the room. Bag storage is 5 euros per bag, which is expensive. No lockers in the rooms.Checkout is not until 4pm, which is quite late. Four hour lockout from 10am-2pm, so you cannot access your stuff during this time. Would have preferred to have use of the kitchen rather than free dinner.

Liked: Staff were amazing. So much fun, great overall atmosphere. Also the dinner was great!

Disliked: If you want a quiet place to stay this might not be it.

Liked: Party atmosphere, you can meet a lot of people from around the world. There is no breakfast but dinner (simple but good) at 19:00hs. Bathroom is really clean.

Disliked: No breakfast. Staff seem more like travellers than people whose job is to help you. No map. No advice of what to do or where to go in the city.

Liked: I loved my stay at the Fish. The staff were great and fun to hang out with and the atmosphere was amazing. I loved meeting all the people there and the location is great. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay at while in Venice.

Liked: The free dinner was good!! The location is excellent: 10 minutes from the train station and about 15 minutes from the center of the city! Bed were fairly comfortable.

Disliked: Only 2 bathrooms for about 30 guests, makes showering, etc. very difficult! Loud music playing in the morning and lock out from 10AM. Sheets cost 3 euro and you only get one, not fitted, sheet.

Liked: 1. Great location to sight-seeings. Accessibility to supermarket. Walking distance to the railway station. 2. Staff reception is friendly and helpful.

Disliked: 1. The hostel need to work hard on the cleaniess, hygiene especially the room and the bathroom. 2. Hostel room should intall a dim light in the event of some night owl coming late to the room OR very early travellers rushing for early airport/ train schedule.

Liked: This is a great hostel to stay at! Anyone who goes to Venice should stay here. It is probably one of the least expensive hostels in Venice, and they serve free pasta dinner to everyone every night. It has a really great atmosphere, and you meet everyone at dinner. It is a great place to meet people if you are traveling alone like was. The location is really cool because it is literally in the middle of a canal an surrounded by water.

Disliked: The staff is really cool, and very friendly, but they are a little rough around the edges. Just know that.

Disliked: Not the cleanest of places and they only have 2 bathrooms for all the guests. which means a line up in the evenings and mornings. NO LOCKERS and lots of people in and out of rooms. Also they have a lock out between 10 and 2 pm..

Liked: awesome, very fun party type hostel. If you want to sleep its prob not the best place for you, but if you love to meet people and have a great time, this is the place for you!

Disliked: really really disliked the 10AM lock out. and also only 2 showers made it hard in the morning times.

Liked: There is nothing I can think of that was bad about this hostel. This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in! It even maintains that Venice charm that makes the city so appealing. The location is absolutely perfect, right on one of the main streets hugging the river, and since the place is built on the water too, it makes for great people watching from the common room balcony that looks out on to the street. This place feels so warm to stay in, like a big Venezian hug. The staff are really cool, especially the manager Chris who has a brilliant sense of humour and is the ideal host for a backpacker's home. I met so many people here because it's a really intimate little hostel, with drinking games that pretty much everyone joins in on and regular outings at night to a bar or a pub. I can say nothing except: STAY HERE!

Disliked: Will left no negative feedback.

Liked: Very social atmosphere, if you want to meet people, you definately will. Its a great location, near supermarket, easy to find it again after loosing yourself in the maze that is venice

Disliked: The decour leaves a lot to be desired. no security except for the lock on the front door. My room was next to the social area, so a bit noisy, but they do warn you its a social hostel

Liked: Loved that you get free dinner and that it's a very social gathering event, in the main lounge and afterwards there was an all you can drink sangria night at an extra cost which was really amazing and got everyone into the chatty mood! Brilliant to get cheap cocktails at the local bar that were amazing!! Was a really friendly place with everyone being there for similar reasons to get to know other travellers and to have a good time!

Disliked: No Laundry service, which they could have at the bottom of the stairs. Otherwise no complaints!
