Liked: people,staff were all great. Dinner was cool. Very cool place!!

Disliked: The property could use a little more TLC, paint to brighten up the feel of the place. And the bathrooms/restrooms could use a little more scrubbing/bleaching.

Liked: The BEST choice for party people. The staff is helpful, funny and smily; the dinner is usually pastas, good ones, but of course do not expect it to be a high culinary experience, but who cares really? Go to the restaurant for that! Beds were ok, the location is stunning and not very far from the train station (hurray for the backpackers)... Overall, a good experience. We would recommend it for travellers alone who wish to meet exciting new people.

Disliked: As said before, the best choice for party people...which we were not, so noisy at night...but people really seemed to enjoy! Also only 2 washrooms but when you're aware of that (thanks to the reviews!), it's easy to organize yourself and have a free bathroom. And the hostel is so well located that you can visit a place and then come in the afternoon, when nobody's there, to take a quick shower and then leave again. Pricey... we could find a hotel with a room for two for 5 more euros only.

Liked: Great time, awesome staff... Just don't expect a relaxing stay. Location is great for walking Venice, discounts at a lot of the pubs, and a really cool place to meet other travelers

Liked: the staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. they cooked a meal each night which was unexpected and welcome. A brilliant and fun place to stay ideal for party heads but probably not suited for those who want a quiet romantic break

Liked: Great location! The staff was accomodating, they gave us free dinner even after we checked out, since we had only stayed for a night, and got in real late and so missed the dinner the first day, so they let us come back the next day in the evening before we took out train back to milan. Food is pretty decent and the bathrooms are kept clean. Also manager lent us his map. They did take us out and seemed keen on us having agood time.

Disliked: They charge you for linens and seemed disorganized. Our dorm room didn't have door, so a lot of the living room light came in and it was noisy.

Liked: Extremely well priced for the location it is at! The guys running the place are friendly and really helpful. The free dinner offered was great, definitely recommended for a stay in Venice.

Liked: I've just got back from 4 nights at A Venice Fish. I was travelling alone and found the hostel to be a great place to meet people. The evening meal (delicious pasta dishes!) followed by the very cheap bar every night was the best time to get chatting to people. The staff were all really friendly too taking people out to bars on an evening. They were great about making sure people got back to the hostel ok too. The rooms are fairly basic but clean. After reading the reviews I was a little concerned but in the four nights I was there I didn't see (or feel) a single bed bug, and i'm the sort of person who usually gets bitten by anything there is! There were only two bathrooms but they were kept very clean and I didn't have to wait long for a shower. There aren't any lockers but the staff offered to lock away any valuables if I needed it. The hostel is in a great location about 15 mins from the train station, really easy to find. Nearby is a supermarket, lots of places to eat, drink & shop. If I go back to Venice I'll definately stay at Fish again, I had an amazing time!

Liked: The staff was very friendly and it was very easy to meet people. The hostel was clean and I felt safe the whole time since it was in a good area that was easy to find. And they made us delicious free dinner every night and offered to take anyone who wanted to go explore the Venice night life

Liked: It's worth noting that it's actually 2 hostels and I stayed in the second hostel, which is not the main one, so everything I'm saying will refer to the second hostel, unless I say 'the main one'. Both had free wifi, very friendly staff and both were a good location in terms of proximity to the train station. The main hostel served a free dinner every night, which was some variety of pasta. The hostel had spacious rooms.

Disliked: Although the hostel was close to the train station, it is a bit of a walk to the main attractions. No lock on our room, and no secure place to put things. Only one bathroom, but as I sai this applies to the second hostel, which is much smaller and has less people. We never had a real problem with it.

Liked: Loved the atmosphere and that it was close to the train/bus stations. Staff was very friendly and the free diner was great.

Disliked: Had to wait for the staff to wake up before we could check out, even though I notified them that I would need to check out before normal hours per their instructions. Because of this my groups sightseeing time was cut down and we didn't get to see some key locations.

Liked: Has a very fun bohemian feel to the hostel. Pasta and drinks in the evening. Good location. Staff take you out if want to.

Disliked: unfortunately the other comments are true. Bed bugs everywhere! Only 2 bathrooms ( but understanable in an old building like it it) The staff there didn't really offer anything amazing about Venice. They were pretty much hungover all the time. Would be a good fun hostel but nothing really makes up for BEDBUGS. Go somewhere else or your be spending money later getting rid of the bedbugs!

Liked: The staff was friendly and the place is kind of clean, Location is fine, but almost everywhere in Venise would be...

Disliked: It is extremely pricy for a hostel. Beds are really low quality. It is really hard to find the place (no name on the door or any signs whatsoever). Even with the right adress and number it is tough. If you happen to book the bedroom for 12 ppl be prepared to catch close to zero sleep. It is next to the shower + living room and people who booked the dorm for 8 persons will have to cross your dorm to go shower, leave the hostel, etc So ur pretty much paying 40 bucks for a room where 20 people will come and go all night.

Liked: the location is great - but it needs to be clearly signed. the free dinner was really good, everyone i met was super friendly and people were just keen to chill out, enjoy the sangria and have a generally fabulous time. we were staying 4 nights so we were moved to the second building and even got to stay in the private room (so beautiful!) for our first night.

Disliked: not really anything. it would have been a bit hard to get sleep in the main building, but we were in the second building which was nicer and quieter for sleeping :)

Liked: Great atmosphere, good comunity vibe, however do not follow google maps to find this place as its wrong, even with instructions from hostel its a bit of a challange to find the place, but once ur in its pretty obvious. Good comunal meals at the end of the day and right next to a canal. Good place to meet people from all over the world.

Disliked: hard to find and got bitten but some creatures during the nights

Liked: Very friendly and sociable place and good for meeting other travellers. They provide dinner and guests from a nearby hostel come to have drinks as well. The staff do take you to some nearby bars and are very laid back and helpful. Amazing location. Beds were comfortable and place was clean.

Disliked: No kitchen facillities but supermarkets are nearby.

Liked: I met very friendly people.

Disliked: I got some skin diease from this hostel. I think it's kind of dust mite, it bite me so start to itchy. and one of traveller had same symptoms with me. I think it's problem of here.

Liked: Friendly/helpful staff. Good free dinner. Good location. Not dirty. Good for social travelers.

Disliked: Noisy until midnight. Big shared rooms which are connected to other share rooms without separate doors.

Liked: I had a really good time at this hostel, great vibe. The dinner was good and the building itself is really interesting. A great location and staff too.

Disliked: That you do have to pay an extra three euros for sheets, it gets a little expensive with taxes and all by the end.

Disliked: Huge shower queue, and a loo roll shortage! more coffee, sugar, cups etc please.
