Liked: This was my very first hostel experience and it was very clean and very cozy. Its location is perfecto. Super close to the train and bus station and I was able to walk into Ortigia to explore and have dinner. Even though I stayed during the off season so it was quieter and less crowded I would highly suggest this hostel for everyone and anyone looking to stay in Siracusa.

Liked: The place was large and spacious, modern interior; stainless steel kitchen and nice alfresco. From the bathrooms to the bedroom, the cleanliness was a win :)

Liked: Das Hostel gehört zu den schönsten die ich bisher gesehen habe. Die Einrichtung und die helle Steinfassade ist wirklich sehr hübsch. Dazu gehört eine gut ausgestattete, moderne Küche. Die Zimmer waren auch sehr nett eingerichtet, mit Bad im Zimmer, Klimaanlage und sogar Handtüchern. An der Rezeption bekam ich direkt eine Mappe und Informationen zu allem, was ich unter Umständen wissen hätte wollen und den wichtigsten Überlebenstipps eines jeden Hosteltravellers (Supermarkt, Bank, Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, wo krieg ich was zu essen). Selbst Frühstück war inbegriffen. Wirklich absolut zu empfehlen, 3 Häuser von Bahnhof und Busbahnhof entfernt und zu Fuß ca. 10min nach Ortigia und die Einkaufsstraße ist um die Ecke.

Disliked: WiFi war zwar umsonst, aber für alle die nicht ihr Smartphone ständig mit sich rumtragen, sollte doch ein Internetzugang am Computer für unter 1€ für 30min möglich sein, das halte ich für recht überteuert. Das Frühstück lag zwischen Italien Style und normal, sprich gefülltes Croissant, Butter, eine Sorte Marmelade und Zwieback. Da könnte man mit wenig Aufwand noch ein bisschen Abwechslung reinbringen, auch wenn ich es überhaupt schon toll fand, dass es Frühstück gab. Der Essbereich lag allerdings im nicht überdachten Hinterhof und ich frage mich doch, was sie bei Regen machen würden.

Liked: This is probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Yes, it's expensive, but you absolutely get what you pay for. If you're lucky enough to meet the owner Giovanni when you arrive (and he's usually around), he'll give you an exhaustive list of the best things to see and do in Syracuse on a budget, and every suggestion is superb - you'll probably save more than the extra bit of money you'd pay for a night in this place by knowing exactly where to go and avoid. Not that you'd be at a disadvantage if you don't meet him, because all the staff are fantastic - friendly and knowledgeable, and even professional, a rare quality in hostel staff. The decor is stylish and modern, more what you'd expect from a nice new hotel than a hostel. It has by far the best communal kitchen of any hostel I've visited, so if you're keen on cooking then a morning in Syracuse's fabulous market followed by a feast in the evening would be perfect. There's more of a range in ages among the guests here, with plenty of people in their late twenties and thirties, and even the odd tour group, which means that the hostel doesn't quite have the vibe of instant backpacker-camaraderie you may be expecting. But after the enforced bonding activities and endless tequila nights of sleazier hostels this can be quite refreshing, and though it took me a good day to make friends here, the friends I made were wonderful.

Disliked: I only have one very minor complaint. The hostel bar seemed to be closed for the whole weekend I was there, which was a shame, because it's beautiful and well-stocked, advertising decent prices. This meant that a large area near the kitchen was shut off which could provide the perfect space for evening socializing, and prevent the slightly antisocial feeling in the hostel which other reviewers mentioned.

Liked: An amazingly clean hostel and superbly set up - kitchen is fantastic, if only a little small. The staff are incredibly helpful and it is very conveniently located near to the bus and train terminal while still being only a short distance from the central old town. I would highly recommend this hostel!

Liked: It is very near to the train station and bus terminal. It has a very open architectural style that allows for a lot of light and air. It was nice to have breakfast provided.

Liked: seems like recently open. very clean. close to everywhere. 2 min away from train station yet you do not hear any trains. very friendly and helpfull staff. there is absolutely nothing I did not like. shame we could not stay longer. highly recommend!

Liked: Large, comfortable space with many areas for either privacy or social activity. The people were of all ages and types (alone, friends, families), and from all over the world. The owner was working alone because of the holiday (Easter), but still put 110% of this energy into showing you locations on a map and making recommendations. It was a rediculously busy day, but every time I walked past reception he was sitting there, giving a full introduction to every single guest that came in. He is extremely hard working and cares about what he does. It is also the cleanest and newest hostel I have ever seen.

Disliked: I don't dislike anything about the property- My critique rests in going to Siracusa and Ortiga in general. I say it is worth it to use this hostel as a home-base" to see other locations in the area, such as Noto, etc. Siracusa nd Ortiga is not an area you need to spend several days in. However, this place is so secure, I would have felt comfortable using it as a location to sleep at, while making day trips. I did not do this, though and felt like I ran out of things to see just in Siracusa. I traveled alone, and believe you shouldn't spend too much time i nSiracusa alone, it gets a bit touristy and expensive.

Liked: The kitchen was great with an outdoor area to eat and hang out. Location was great, close to train, bus, and really close to the only supermarket in town. The owner was very helpful with directions and offering great places to visit and/or eat at. Very comfortable vibe. The rooms have lockers in all rooms which is a plus.
