Liked: GREAT basic accommodations. Clean. Comfortable double beds. RIGHT off Il Campo (the main square). Daniela speaks great English. She and her husband, Alizzardo, are excellent hosts. Daniela's restaurant recommendations provided us with the best food we ate in all of Italy. Sooooooo good!My partner and I found free street parking just outside the city gates (Porta Tufi, a 10-15 minute walk from Palazzo Massi), and Daniela & Alizzardo picked us up and drove us, with our stuff, to P.Massi. We asked for a room on the street which we loved. It was fun to sit by the window, drink wine, and imagine the city at its peak in the Middle Ages. (Fun fact: the population of Siena today is the same as it was in the Middle Ages, before a huge portion of its population was wiped out by the plague... Don't worry, they have it under control these days.) It's a lively little city, so if you have a room over the street, bring earplugs... There is a music school across the street that will wake you with classical music some mornings if you don't have earplugs in. It's a great way to wake up though!Siena is amazing, day and night. It's only about an hour drive to Florence and a great home base for your stay in Tuscany.

Liked: The location was perfect for exploring Siena and was very close to restaurants/bars etc. The owners were very friendly and helpful and willing to give up their time to provide their own tips about Siena. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable although the bathroom was a little squeezy (but that's Europe.)We will defiinitely be back and will recommennd to our friends.
