Liked: The location, very near Termini, was good and the price was very low. Whilst the air-conditioning is an optional extra that we didnt take, we found no problem with the room which remained warm through snowy nights.

Disliked: Though this didnt affect our trip, some people may like to know that the television reception was very poor in the absence of the clearest of skies. In terms of cleanliness and comfort, the room smelt strongly of cigarettes in spite of the no smoking signs. Also, the floors and sheets were unclean, and the beds sagged noticeably. Overall, the New York B&B was about the quality one would expect for this very low price, so no complaints.

Liked: Very close to the main train/bus/metro station Termini. Free tea/coffee every time (no capuccino, as it is stated)

Disliked: In short, we expected more for the price we paid. It's rather difficult to check-in there. First, you need to find the reception (it was NOT in the hotel Cortorillo, as we were informed. We had to ask hotel staff for that. Also most of them don't speak English), then at the reception you need to wait for the waitress to come and follow you to the hotel, which is about 200 m by foot. Finally, they don't accept credit cards. Also, the bathroom was not in the room, though it was private.

Liked: Close to train station. Decent room and decent beds. Great wifi. The hotel reception guy was very helpful and drove us to the airport himself at 4am when we couldn't get a shuttle.

Disliked: For the price we paid, I expected more. The area near the train station is pretty dodgy and we had drunk people screaming out the front of our window all night. Room was nothing special - did the job for what we needed, but wouldn't choose it again.

Liked: The location was perfect, 2 minutes walk from Termini, 10 minutes walk from Santa Maria Maggiori, within walking distance from the centre... The room is quite comfortable and breakfast is good enough. Despite being in the centre, not very much noise. There is a wide range of economical restaurants in the area as well.

Disliked: The first impression: we couldn't find the B&B cause there is no sign at all, only the name in very small letters next to the corresponding doorbell (first floor). Then, there is no reception, and you have to phone the number on the door, which is from the reception which is in another hotel (Cortorrillo) within five minutes walk (Via Principe Amadeo). They should do the check-in there and then see the guests to the B&B, or ask the guests for their arrival time and be there. Anyway, the major problem was the fact that we couldn't pay by credit card, a very important detail that remained unknown up to that point. We finally paid the room and taxes without receiving any receipt in exchange. Be careful with the change!

Disliked: Everything, for not being a hostel, for smellind, for being hot, for being dark, for having smelly sheats, for the lousy breakfast, for the lack of help of the staff, my mood wasn't so good in Rome because of the terrible beggining.

Liked: It was a clean and cosy room with a nice view. Had everything we needed except maybe air conditioning if you're not willing to pay extra.

Disliked: The bathroom shower was missing the door which got the whole bathroom wet and water started to leak out into the bedroom itself. That and we thought air conditioning was provided without extra cost.

Liked: The bathroom is ok. The location may seem bad; but if you have to travel afterwards it's great (nerby Termini, the main train and subway station).

Disliked: The room is far more tiny than what shows on the pics. On the description it says "italian breakfast" and it's a low brand supermarket stuff breakfast.

Liked: Everything was great! I recommend this accommodation to all people. Everything important is on about 20 min walk from here: the Colosseum, di Trevi fountain ... no need for a bus, subway ... Super!

Disliked: Sometimes you can hear the noise of trains, but no big deal for people with normal sleep.

Liked: The location is very good in the respect that you can reach major site seeing spots very quickly (in 10min). The area of Termini, however, is not so nice. Lot of strange people. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, the place was clean. For the money, it is a good deal if they fix the problems mentioned below.

Disliked: First of all, you have to call the guy for him to pick you up. He doesn't stay in the place (He is in the nearby Hotel though). Secondly, we were charged 4euro city tax - supposedly a new law from Jan 11 (you have to check yourself). The heating didn't work so it was cold (it might have been just us not being able to turn it on properly - we did try all the positions though). There was no bread for breakfast, just some kind of dry biscuit, the coffee was not even instant (some kind of supplement) - there was instant cappuccino though. There were croisants (one of those in a plastic package). For the private bathroom you have to walk through shared area. However, for the money one can't expect so much so I am just writing all this just to give a better idea/space for improvements.

Liked: Great location, good value, the guy who runs the place lives there but aside from putting breakfast out in the morning, he leaves you alone. Breakfast was not particularly good or filling so plan accordingly. Rooms lock individually and wireless is available. We had a great view of the city from out room.

Disliked: We booked our room on hostelbookers in the morning of our stay and went there for the earliest check-in and the guy was not there as he did not know about our booking yet. However, the cleaning lady called him, and he met us there in a short period of time to check us in. He clearly goes to school or has another job so I would advise allowing enough notice after booking before going to check-in.

Liked: It was VERY near Termini Station (the main hub for public transportation in Rome (buses, trains, metro, ways to get to the airport). Very clean.

Disliked: The area is a little sketchy to be in because it is where all the tourists arrive. So there are a lot of beggars and people trying to rip you off. Also the metro ran right underneath the room so you could hear it go by every 5-10 minutes or so. You kind of got used to it after a while.

Liked: Here's the story. I booked with NY B&B because the price appeared to be about 6.00eur on the property list. Then they sent me an email that it was the system problem to have the price wrong and quoted me a new price or I can cancel it due to the misleading info. I cancelled the booking although deposit has been paid and hunted for another hostel. And I found Gaia B&B. The reservation went well. I went to the address given to find Gaia B&B. Guess what, it was the wrong address, wrong house number outside the yellow resident building and it was just too difficult to find it, although we were already in the building 3 times. We went to another hotel nearby and asked the concierge for direction, in case I was wrong. The lady couldn't be more helpful to help us to call Gaia reception desk. The reason I didn't call earlier because it's so happened our credit was barred and was fed up, cranky and tired for another search of public phone. We walked to the building again, and finally a woman attended us and took us to another Gaia by 2 minutes walk, that I supposed where the private rooms are. Guess again, the another Gaia is actually NY B&B. Isn't this ridiculous? I like the location because it's very near to the train station. The room was spacious, clean and with air-cond and heater. I like the breakfast. Although not much but was enjoying enough to kickstart the day. Btw, luv the cappuccino mix.

Disliked: It's pretty sketchy outside of the property. They did not provide us the floor towel for private ensuite bedroom. The water from the wall tap sprayed out and we have no choice but to let it dry by itself. Was impressed when i first saw there was a TV. Since it was raining in the evening and we couldn't go elsewhere, we were literally bored to death. They should provide a communication tool for residents of the private rooms which were located in another building to contact the reception desk. Never lie about your address.

Liked: The staff was very very nice and helpful!!! The location was also good...and there is a great restaurant next door.

Disliked: Flourescent lights (they hurt), Weird Cheap Breakfast, Felt unsafe (Bars on windows), Very small/no onsite staff/no other travelers, bad atmosphere.

Liked: Very convenient location, easy to get everywhere within the city, and to and from the airport. They let us leave our luggage there during the day before heading back to the airport.

Disliked: The only bad thing is that there's only someone there some of the time, and you have to tell them your exact time to pick up luggage or check in or whatnot,
