Liked: Summary - 3 rooms appartment filled with 18 beds together. Small rooms, no common room, no lockers. Breakfast out of the building, free internet only for the first 15 minutes (out of the building as well). Shop around for something more attractive.

Liked: It has been the worst hostel I have ever been. I was just spending one night in Rome, and upon the arrival, the guy working there did not respect my booking since he insisted to put me in a room that has a different the number of people to which the reservation was made. Then, I went out for the city sightseeing, and when I came back, surprise!!!, they moved the bed where I let my luggage and personal belongings so that they included 3 new beds to the room (beds that were not in the room when he just put me in the room). The owner did not speak very good english (instructions and captions are confusing ) and he just said "new people is coming" as if were not his fault. The room was very very small, it did not have any proper facilities. Furthermore, the hostel as it self is extremly small (corridors,bathrooms, showers). Imagine that you need help from the people who work there to cross through the door with your backpack. It does not have any common room neither.Anyway, and as usually live provides surprises, I met very nice people, but this is not and advantage of the hostel.Fernando

Liked: Ma hostel's great place to stay when visiting Rome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave me a good map and recommendations about sites in Rome. The place is very nice and clean. I'd met cool people there. I'm definitely coming back!!!

Liked: can not fault this place at all! does everything and more! we had a rough day travelling and when we got there it was great to have so much help and hospitality! showed where to go and even the best ice cream in town! if you are going to Rome definately stay here! gotta love Monty!

Liked: I had a great time here. The guy (staff or probably owner) was beyond friendly and helpful. It was my very first time staying in a hostel and I was a bit skeptical about staying in this sort of place but Ma Hostel totally changed my thought. I met many fun people here too. I'd definitely recommend this hostel to everyone.

Liked: Ma Hostel is amazing, I came out of the Termini Station literally puking to death, but fortunately I was able to locate Ma Hostel pretty quickly and rang the buzzer. The staff came out looking for me immediately, and he was extremely helpful and put me in a bed even though it was lot earlier than the scheduled check-in time. The staff at Ma Hostel were all very friendly, patient, and helpful and they speak good English. Also, I met lots of people and it was really fun. Great hostel experience.

Liked: the owner is very nice and told us the attraction and fast way to look all attraction..the location is very good,less than 3 minutes to the train station..the breakfast is good however you need to walk the corner of the street..but don't worry,the owner will you every facilities ,,also we have free half an hour internet for each people..the room is big and clean,tv is provided..

Liked: A friend and I stayed at Ma Hostel for 7 days, whilst we were in Rome. We found the location excellent (it's close by the Termini station - which is at the cross over point for both the Metro lines, and the starting/ending points for practically every bus in Rome!) and the Rooms of a very decent size. There was no curfew, which meant we could do what we wanted and when, and the owner Monty was always helpful and very welcoming. He even took us to where the locals have ice cream (best ice-cream I have ever had) at 1:00am in the morning - which was something we couldn't have found by ourselves in a million years ! The other staff were helpful too, and if we needed help there was always someone around. We were staying in a private double room (so unfortunately can't speak for what the dorms are like - the other double room and quad room which I fleeting glimpsed seemed to be okay to though..).The room itself was a bit dusty, although most of this can probably be attributed to fine dust that blows almost constantly around Rome in summer, and we did have our window open most of the time. The air conditioning is basically an upright fan, although we found this to be adequate at night, for those who like to sleep in very cold rooms, they may find it slightly warm to their tastes. The hostel does have a lift, which would be of benefit to anyone lugging a suitcase around and/or anyone who is really knackered from a day of sight seeing/travelling !It is near the Rome termini train station, but not so close as you can hear the trains constantly through the night. I will mention that can be random noises throughout the night (The dustman come at 1:00am-2:00am, and what I presume to be the bottle recycling people come about 6:00am) but this is the same story across all of central Rome. Speaking of, I did find Rome to be almost an 24 hour city, as there was always lots of traffic and people to be found out and about in the small hours. This can contribute to the noise factor, but as the hostel is on a quite one-way street not often used as a thoroughfare route, this didn't really bother me at all. For those who like to go to sleep in complete darkness, my advice to you would be to bring an eye mask. The shutters and curtains keep out a fair bit of light, but not completely, and with sunrise, it can get a little bright in the room. For those who like to have a decent shower in the morning/evening/both, never fear, as there are two excellent (and clean) power showers in both bathrooms which managed to hold on to a temperature once set. There is also a hair-dryer for anyone who has need of one in one of the bathrooms. The towels provided are quite small so if you have room in your luggage I would pack an additional one.Internet is by way of the owners other business which was an internet café and launderette around the corner, this said, I found I could pick up on free wireless internet in the room on my laptop. There is also a fridge which can be used by guests down the end of the corridor, but no kitchen or common area/lounge, which was a bit of a shame.The free breakfast was by voucher and could be redeemed at the fabulous café about a minute away from the hostel. It consisted of a freshly baked croissant with a choice of fillings (my favourite was the white chocolate) and whatever drink you liked (I would advise against having tea though, they cannot make a decent cup, stick to what the Italians do best and have a coffee) overall we found it to be an excellent way to start the day.Overall we thought our stay was excellent, and would recommend it to anyone wishing to sightsee in Rome.

Liked: Uncomplicated stay. We arrived late and yet didn't encounter any problems after a short phone call. Nice staff and very good location. We can definitely recommend this hostel.

Liked: Very good location, near to Termini station and easy to get around. Good supermarket at the station. Unfortunately noisy too, because in the center of the city, needs earplugs if windows are open. Clean and staff is very friendly.
