Liked: The location is very good - near to the station, and near to the colloseum. Very nice view from buildings roof! And the staff is very helpful with everything - we arrived 9am. and our room was already ready! Room was big and with big bed, there was conditioner in room. You can by your own cook your dinner in kitchen on roof!

Disliked: Zane left no negative feedback.

Liked: handy location, nice rooftop. (the only saving grace of this place)

Disliked: The kitchens were not even close to fully equiped. The kitchen in our room only had 2 corkscrews, one butterknife, one spoon, one serving spoon, a moka pot, and a jar of salt. that is literally all. The communal kitchen didn't have hot water, knives, chopping boards or even detergent to wash up after yourself. Our bathroom's hot water did NOT work, and was not fixed or even looked at despite informing the hostel owner. also the italian breakfast service was not given in the room as advertised and was essentially a stale crossiant. we booked a double room, but were told it was not available and taken to an empty dorm room and told we could push the beds together. same price. Security was very poor with our room being secured by an ancient, malfunctioning, uncut lock not of the yale type.

Liked: Great price, great location (easy walking distance to Colosseum if you are in decent shape), owners were very nice, friendly, and helpful. Very clean as far as hostels go. The best part was the rooftop terrace. We enjoyed eating dinner on the roof every night with fantastic views of the city.

Disliked: A lot of the communal kitchen equipment and furniture is either broken, dirty, or run down, but enough of it was in decent shape for us to get by on. And you can't really expect much more from a hostel at this price. Also, the front door is pretty difficult to find. There is no obvious sign really, so if you plan on staying here, don't give up looking for it. It's there - it's just disguised as any other residential front door.

Disliked: I didn´t trust the owner, it was dirty, it was 40 min walk from city centre.

Liked: I had an AMAZING stay at Casa Olmata! I was traveling alone, but through the hostel was able to meet great new friends. I stayed in the dorm because of the better price and couldn't be happier with my decision. The location is perfect, right next to the termini station, and the rooftop view is incredible. Also, it's only a 20 minute walk from the colosseum. The hostel itself, is in a very remote and quiet location. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I have great memories of meeting new people and having a blast on the terrace.

Disliked: Not much for breakfast, although it is cheap (but I'm just not a real fan of bread products). Showers are a little bit annoying (not much hot water and the floors flood). I heard that the fourth floor smells of mold, but my stay on the third floor was just fine. Perfect for people who aren't always expecting to live a lavish life filled with luxury. If you're just looking for a place to have a roof over your head and enjoy your time, I would highly suggest Casa Olmata. No real complaints.

Liked: the couple that run the place are very nice and helpful. we stayed at a very central place, just minuts from any bus you need, but we walked to all the attractions. the kitchen is a really big plus!! it was with everything we needed to cook, and there's a ;arge supermarket near the place. the room was big and comfortable. also we got cupons for onw free breakfast at a local coffee place. we enjoyed our time!

Disliked: tha bathrooms are old and not very good taked care off, didn't feel clean becoase of the mealdew smell, taking a shower wasen't that comfortable

Liked: It's quite ok if you are looking just for a place to sleep, its near a metro station and walking 20 min to the Coloseo

Disliked: It wasn't clear if the breakfast was free, I paid 2 euros but the other guess didn't pay anything which makes me feel like i got robbed. They close 2 hours, even if it's specified is very inconvenient. The view from the rooftop wasn't what I expected, you can barely see the coliseum.

Liked: We stayed at the apartment in Via Merulana which is 2 minutes away from the supermarket and 3 from the nearest metro station. The Coloseum was only a 5 minute walk. Furthermore, the room was nice and big, the kitchen was old but clean and well equiped, and the staff was very friendly.

Disliked: There was no internet in our apartment, so we had to go to the main building for this.

Liked: Good location, ok staff, rooms are decent. You get what you pay for ;). but don't go there with heavy luggage because you have to climb 5 floors up!!

Disliked: rooms were very hot, fan wasn't working properly. but it was also the hottest day of the year in rome i think..

Liked: The location, roof terrace, lack of a curfew, clean and comfortable enough for the price paid

Disliked: A few fixtures and fittings could me repaired, but it is an old building within an old area. The breakfasts are high in sugar but good value

Liked: Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Amazing view of the city from the rooftop terrace. Our suite had its own kitchen area. Free internet was very handy.

Disliked: Hot water in the taps, but our shower was mostly a cold trickle. Little charges for things like towels and luggage storage were a bit annoying, but not unusual.

Liked: Very close and convenient to the Colosseum. Central location so it was easy to hop on the bus or walk to the train station to catch the metro.

Disliked: All stairs no elevator, wasn't prepared to walk up 5 flights of staircases with luggage. Definitely overpriced for the condition of the hotel. The hot water didn't work at all for showers. The fan didn't work in the room and we asked about it and it never got fixed during our stay. They said breakfast was included but then said it's 2 Euro for all guests.

Liked: Very good located. Very near to the most beautiful places in Rome. The room has their own refrigerator. Nice view of rome.

Disliked: The cleanliness could be much better. Organization of logistc can be faster and easier.

Liked: Once you actually find Casa Olmata which is actually just one straight line from the railway atation to the hostel, its a great location, its about a 10 min walk from colisseum, is quite central but not very noisy as it is tucked away on a sidestreet and there is a nunnery opposite! The lady that owns the hostel is lovely, will advise you on anything you need to know and you can have a lovely breakfast for 2 euros! Bargain!

Disliked: Unfortunately me and my friend's room was located on the 4th floor of the hostel which meant there were 80 stairs to climb everytime which was toughgoing when youve already walked around Rome all day! It is very basic and the showers are extemely tempramental, either scolding hot or ice cold but its a clean place and if its just somewhere where you want to literally hold your stuff and somewhere to sleep, its fine!

Liked: Good location, friendly staff, room had a kitchen.

Disliked: We were gently awoken every morning at 3AM to the screaming of about a dozen or so rats. I also found it difficult to enjoy the gentle dribble of cold water from the shower head.

Liked: Loved that that it was super easy to find from Termini train station. The staff was Super Nice!!! The terrace was amazing you could cook up there as well which was nice. The rooms were small but we were really only there to sleep and the terrace made up for it. It was also only a short walk to the colossuem, and you could see it from the top of the terrace.

Disliked: nothing

Liked: I DID NOT LIKE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE.

Disliked: I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anybody. I should say that after been in there, me and my friends, felt cheated. We paid the price for a good place and we were given a completely different place.... Everthing in bad condition, the room, the kitchen, and the bathroom completely filthy.

Liked: The building itself isn't the nicest, but it is very safe. There are three different locked doors to get to your room, so you can be sure that you and your things are safe! Breakfast at a nearby cafe was included which included a croissant(some chocolate filled!)/other pastry, and a capuccino/tea/espresso/etc.. The workers were very helpful and made sure to point out the best gelato places for us!

Disliked: There was only internet at the main building (we were in a separate building a few blocks away), and that was only wireless, no computer to use. That wasn't a huge problem though!

Liked: Close to station. Came with either a pack breakfast OR vouchers for a local cafe (good cakes there!) Good shower!
