Amy HoweRome's plus camping is great! WE stayed in Venice's one first and if you have done the same, don't worry Rome is a 100 times better, cleaner and the staff are very helpful (they have their own tourist office on site to help out) it is a little out of Rome, but very easy to get into the city centre and we found staying out of Rome was nice as you can relax by the pool, have a great open oven baked pizza from the restaurant if you don't feel like going into town and sightseeing. We loved camping Rome so much we came back and stayed an extra three nights!!! |

Philip PedlowWe stayed at Plus Camping Roma for four nights in a one of the chalets. The facilities on offer are excellent - shop, laundry, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, internet (free wireless) etc. The rooms are very good, with three beds, wardrobe space and drawers, plenty of plugs, a small desk, air-conditioner and full on suite bathroom. The main issue we had was with noise and with the cold at night - due to the paper thin walls. We heated the room at night with the air-conditioner and wore earplugs - a must! Also, because the smaller chalets are adjoined they do tend to move a bit when the neighbours are moving around. I didn't find this a problem though. The camp site is located well outside of the Rome centre, opposite a large supermarket. I recommend taking the shuttle bus to the Vatican that runs from the campsite and back, which does about 8 returns in the day (starting from 0800 from the campsite, last run leaving from the Vatican at 1830 from memory). There is also a direct bus (but doesn't run on sundays) or a bus and metro route into the city. The staff in the information centre were very helpful (and multilingual). I imagine in the summer this would be a great place for young people to stay and socialise. Overall the facilities are excellent and while there are a few drawbacks as stated above, but if you can live with those then this is an excellent value option for your stay and i would highly recommend it. |

Customer reviewThe individual bungalows are fairly clean and everything is in great working order. What was not so great was the fact that when it rains, water leaks in on the floor. The walls between the two parts of the bungalow are also super thin, so you can always hear when your neighbor has his water running. |

Owen RyeComing back to the campsite after a day out in the city provided a breath of fresh air following the franticness of the city (and indeed the bus!). Nice "neighbourhood" atmosphere in the bungalows, and rooms with all you need. Supermarket across road v convenient. Was quite expensive when we stayed in mid-July (peak time..) and somewhat inconvenient being so far from the city centre, but these are countered by its positives. |

Customer reviewValue for money. Line to check in/check out took way too long-approx 30-45mins wait and some staff are very rude. Shuttle bus was handy. |

Customer reviewThe staff were very helpful and it was great to have shuttle services available, especially to Vatican City. The only downside of this hostel is that the bungalows are not soundproof and you are basically sharing your room with your neighbours (which is not good if they are up all night). We woke up in the middle of the night thinking Rome was having an earthquake! |

Shona FreemanThe lady at info point is awesome, security staff were great (kicked out loud drunkeds), restaurant staff friendly... shame about location, have to catch bus AND Metro to town -no good when they are on strike! No kitchen is a shame at a camp ground. |

Rosana Bastos SilvaIt's not far from the center and there is a shuttle bus that takes you to town (it starts to run early morning which is great) or you can just take the regular bus at the bus stop in front of the camping. There is also a big supermaket just across the street where you can buy from anything you need. The bungalows are all new and very clean. It feels like you are the first guest staying there. Staff is also very friendly and there are very good artists entertaining guests at night. The only bad comment I have is about some noisy young guests. Even though there are signs saying that people are not allowed to hang out in the bungalows area after 10 pm (if I'm not mistaken) guests do not respect it. I stayed there 3 different nights in 3 different bungalows and every sigle night I was woken up after 2 am by noisy guests that were either shouting or speaking very loud just outside my bungalow. This is not the camping's fault, I know, but I'd would strongly recommend them to keep someone from security all night in the bungalows area to make sure those drunk guests that like to stay up late night will let the guests that just want to rest get some decent sleep. |
