Sarah Hung- Overall, the stay at Alessandro was good in comparison to all the other hostels we've stayed at - The hostel is a short distance from the train station which was very convenient when we had to run for the train with our big backpacks; the train station is also the final stop of many bus lines and has two grocery stores - The only problem our group encountered was when a specific staff member overbooked my friend's room; she was forced to leave her bed at 3 am. That's the fault of a specific staff member though and the other staff were very apologetic. - Don't expect the free pasta to replace a full meal. You need to line up in advance for a small mediocre tasting portion. I would suggest always choosing a hostel with a kitchen if you're looking to save money; Alessandro has a clean and good sized kitchen - I'm a first time visitor to Rome but I'd recommend asking about the Roma Pass at the train station; the pass allows for free admissions for the FIRST TWO attractions and unlimited travel on public transit which is great - Join the pub crawl offered at the hostel, it's a good opportunity to meet travelers from other hostels and to see the city at night |

Customer reviewamazing atmosphere, near Termini train station, (therefore a 20min walk from the main sites) but otherwise great hostel! |

Customer reviewGood for those who want to meet a lot of people, the hostel provides you common kitchen, two dinning rooms, movie session, internet room. Good location, fair breakfast. Staff was not that friendly, but still ok. In general, values the money you pay. |

Customer reviewIt wasn't terribly expensive and is a very short walk from the train station. Not the best area at night, but the hostel is secure and safe. |

Customer reviewEverything provided as described. Showers a little dirty but not bad. Nice building (but you have to go up a lot of steps, depending what floor you are on); nice location. Super friendly staff. Great value for the price. Note: You must sign up for the pasta party¨each day at reception. |

Claudia PunzWhen I arrived I was very surprised: for less money I got a big, clean room, the staff was really friendly and outgoing and I got to know a lot of young people from countries all over the world! Once I enjoyed a so called "pasta party" - that was a really good idea! (good italian food for free... *mmmhhh*) But what I´ve really enjoyed was the fact, that the hostel is so close to "Termini" --> it was so easy to travel around (by bus or metro)!! If I come back to Rome I would come back to Alessandro Downtown! |

Customer reviewIt was a great place to meet people. Free food and the staff were great. I felt very safe and it's a pivotal location for all the best spots in town. I loved my time at the hostel and have recommended it to all my friends. Good experience overall. |

Customer reviewThe bed room is nice. It is in a very good style and there are batheroom in every floor which are enough for everyone. But the bed room there is no fan and it was so hot at night. I and my friends almost naked sleeping there!! |

Customer reviewRooms kept clean, free pasta on weeknights, but that means you can't use the kitchen to cook your own food 'till after 7:30 pm. The kitchen could be better equipped, and a sign says that it is only officially open between 6 pm and 10 pm (why??), but still very useful. Rooms had no a/c, but a ceiling fan provided some relief. |
