Liked: It was close to the train station and all the major attractions are a walkable distance. The free pizza and wine was a great way to meet people. It was very clean. The breakfast was average.

Disliked: There is no common room (other than kitchen which is tiny) the showers had terrible pressure and didn't keep a steady temprature... The staff were only as friendly enough as they need to be, I felt like they didn't really want to be there and didn't provide any information about the city, not even a map! They also seemed a little disorganized as to who was supposed to be in which room. A friend of mine changed rooms every night he was there! I also think the fact that u have to be out by 9am till 3pm in the afternoon a little rediculous. Bit to early when on holiday, u pay for a room u should be able to use it at any hour!

Liked: Well located by the main train station, which gets you onto both underground lines and to the airports etc. Sky in our room which was cool - Sky Sports included. Kitchen was good enough and the hostel is right by a decent supermarket (66cl Moretti 89 cents, job done).

Disliked: We were in the reject building around the corner, so not as much atmosphere as the main building (as other reviews have highlighted). The air conditioning killed us on the second night, it was gushing out water which got all over our stuff and woke us up several times in the night. The bloke at reception didn't seem too bothered when we told him. The room (double) was also very small..

Liked: Location and that's it....nothing more!

Disliked: The dorm rooms do NOT have have security lockers, just a locker but WITHOUT a lock, so there is no security ...... just trust between the people staying in the dorm and the cleaning lady. The showers have strange taps plus there is no pressure in the water, the showers sometimes stops while you are bathing....and the water is either too hot or very cold! The computers in the hostel have a strange operating system......

Liked: Very helpful and friendly staff in the first place. Nice gardens and common room with nice inviting and cozy atmosphere

Liked: I'm absolutely satisfied about this hostel. Staff was very helpful, rooms are clean, secure and very silent. Hostel are very closed to main rail station and metro. + there are kitchen, free PC's and Wi-fi + Pizza & Wine party 3 times per week. It's very good choice for that money.

Disliked: Long cleaning time - from 10 AM till 3 PM. Sometimes there were 1 minute problems with pipe pressure, but it's a minor

Liked: Stayed in separate building to the main one (albeit just around the corner) so didn't really get to mix with fellow travellers. Also, the shower in the room was pathetic - extremely noisy and zero pressure due to leaky shower head. Needs to be improved!

Disliked: Good location close to Termini station, room was clean, adequate a/c, staff were friendly and helpful. Overall it did the trick!

Liked: It´s providing free Internet access and the staff is helpful answer questions about rome, the sights and how to reach the locations.

Disliked: The room was really dark ans couldn´t provide a shelf for the luggage. Besides they didn´t have an order of the beds why we had to switch twice in three nights.

Liked: I've stayed in hostels in several countries over the last two months and Freedom Traveller Hostel definitely rates in the top. Hands down the best wifi I've had anywhere which is a big plus when trying to stay in touch with friends and family. Rooms were nice, spacious, air conditioned, cleaned daily, etc., etc. I could go on and on. The staff were very accommodating and genuinely nice people. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

Disliked: Uh, maybe a larger variety at breakfast. But what was there was free and decent.

Liked: The location was close to the main train station

Disliked: Hostel rooms, breakfast service and other activities took place in other buildings around the reception building. Wasn't that fun of hostel to stay in, kinda boring. Stay at the palace or yellow hostel instead.

Liked: Good hostel, helpful staff. Close to the termini station and there are some stores where you can buy food and other stuff.

Disliked: The one thing I did not like was that there was no plug in my room. There was one outside the room, near the bathroom, but was not working. So, I had to use the one inside the bathroom. Very unpleasant.

Liked: This property is centrally located in the center of Rome. Breakfast everymorning was great and the beer night and pizza night was excellent. The staff speaks Englis and it really is very important as most Italian do not speak English. However, if you are in Rome and you want to find some English speaking person, You better off asking the Paskistan, Indian and the Filipino as they all speak English well. The Freedom traveller staffs all of them speaks english so they can help you with whatever you need some interpreting.

Liked: It was very easy to get to from the train station. All of the staff was very kind and helpful, and they are quite competent in several languages. It was a wonderful atmosphere to meet new people.

Disliked: The bathrooms could have been a bit more clean. Also, the bathroom situation in the morning was a bit rough, with so few bathrooms and quite a lot of people.

Liked: It was close to the train station, was good for meeting people and the free pizza and wine parties went down very well!

Disliked: The sign was very small so was quite hard to find to begin with.

Liked: clean, friendly staff, nice to be right near the train station.

Disliked: the location is right next to the train station, but at least a 20 minute walk from tourist sites. but since the metro is easy and cheap, this isn't a huge problem. the kitchen is also quite small and there is no real common room .. it's just the tables of the kitchen. for a quick stay, it was good.

Liked: close to Airport bus and termini. Has air conditioning.Friendly staff for Rome and it is a genuine Backpackers hostel reather than a glorified guesthouse. Also has a book exchange.

Disliked: The garden area closes at ten, which is too early.

Liked: rooms look shabby but it's quite nice and clean

Disliked: no lokcers in rooms. some people might not like it 'cause it's shabby and old

Liked: Small but good cooking facilities. Friendly and helpful staff with good English.

Disliked: Breakfast coffee was dreadful, it is Italy, should be much nicer.

Liked: The self-catering facilities were pretty great - nice and well stocked communal kitchen. There is also free wi-fi throughout which was excellent and some rooms come with a spiral staircase.

Disliked: The time that you had to be out of the rooms for the cleaning service was a little annoying: quite a long, unspecific period of time that made staying in a bit to avoid the worst of the sun a bit difficult. Plus (though I presume this applies to most hostels in Rome) there was an additional tax to pay when checking in that wasn't indicated anywhere, so be warned.
